As it stands Nintendo is not allowed to reveal any major information on their products until a major stock sale has taken place. They are binded by Japanese law, Zeus explained it earlier.
One of the major announcements that right now is rumoured to be on the horizon is the announcement of an external harddrive. http://www.helmgames.com/articles/258
It makes sense considering their future VC plans and game plans, but I would have otherwise figured they would have pushed for stronger sales in the SD card market.
