It is kind of a wonder why they took a full decade off before? Though I think the major reason, as is said in this article, is now they have the Dragon Quest series back, and that is always the most important game of the show. Back in 97 Nintendo made a move that many didn't agre with when they pulled out of TGS and created their own show, Spaceworld.
