In 2005 Nintendo was worth just over 12 billion dollars, and roughly 9-10 billion in the years prior, it has since increased its market value by an incredible 40 billion USD. Since 2005, with releases of the DS and Wii, Nintendo has risen in value at a staggering rate to 51 billion dollars suprassing Matsushita/Panasonic in value and taking the #2 consumer electronics company in the world. Sony still holds a not very distant #1 position with a market value of 54 billion USD.
