Gaming is the "future" of education?

Some foundation is putting $1M to develop "games" which are learning tools. They even equate New Mario Bros to global warming

The idea is sound but I'd like to see the execution

It seems like they've done this sort of thing before, but the execution is so dead wrong that nobody buy it. Now, if they took some examples from Phoenix Wright or Trauma Center, they can pull off a game that is educational, and still fun to play. (Not saying that either of those games are "accurate", but it at least illustrates the idea.)
