Saw this a while ago but not the English version. I think they're overusing the Guardians from the Zero series, and the only thing I'm looking forward to is the 3 Sages.

ZXAdvent seems a lot like the equivalent of MMZ2, a cool looking game where nothing of importance actually happens. I think it's almost certain Master Thomas will play a big role in the next ZX game because you don't just name someone after Dr. Thomas Light and have him do nothing. Maybe it's asking too much since ZXA is talking about the forgotten ancient technologies but I'm hoping Master Thomas really is Dr. Light and he can fill in on what exactly happened from the Megaman era all the way until now. The Z series basically stated the humans of the Z era are extremely long lived, and even more so in the ZX era, as the way Praire talks about Ciel seems to suggest she is still alive somewhere despite the fact that she's got to be something like 114 years old by now, so if Ciel can be alive after all these years, why not Dr. Light?

Quite the contrary, they've had some kickass games in that series since the GBA came out. I'm not a huge fan of the Battle Chip series but the platformers have been great.

The current platformer, namely ZX Advent, looks like a step backwards from the Z series. Tying the double jump to a specific model (model H) either forces you to slow the gameplay to a crawl, or master some incredibly difficult dash-under manuevers. For example I saw a video of the last boss where the guy had to switch to model H every 30 seconds to double jump over a particularly difficult attack to dodge without double jump, and then resume whatever he was doing after the attack is over. If the goal is to switch forms every 15 seconds they might as well make something like FFX2, complete with the cheesy magical girl transformations. Heck Aile takes a whole minute to do some magical girl like transformation into model ZX so might as well do that for all of them.

I also notice there's a boss you can beat by the 'hop on the wall' trick that was in the game since Chill Penguin in MMX1. The funny thing is that the wall trick was fairly nonexistent in Zero series.
