I grabbed the Heavenly Sword demo upon its release on the PSN.... and although it looked pretty and had god of war-esque button related, context sensitive action.... it was so short and I just didn't understand the combat system enough for it to really be any good. There was some cool stuff, but without any sort of explanation of how to actually use the combat system, it was pretty lame. You fight two groups of enemies after sliding down a giant rope.... I'm sure the real game will actually contain some content, but the demo was lame-o.

I'm scheming right and now and if it works out and I may be able to get one for $200. If I can make enough coin from this to cover things like Rock Band, GTA 4, and WiiFit and have enough left over, I may pick one up.

But really, I have zero reason to get one for more than $200 (Cdn; they're almost the same thing now except for Microshaft who's still charging us $500 Cdn for a $400 US system).

I'd like to have one by this time next year. Hopefully there will still be 60GB versions left since the 80GB won't have the emotion engine in it.

My scheme worked and I can get a PS3 for about $255 Cdn plus tax (I just more than doubled my money for store credit) but I really have no reason to get one. I just don't see anything coming over the horizon that I care about before halfway through next year at the absolute earliest (MGS4) so I'm gonna take that store credit I doubled my money on and use it to buy games that I want instead (like Rock Band, GTA4, Persona 3, Halo 3, etc).

The credit I would spend on the PS3 will do me for new games I want through to next fall so it really doesn't make sense for me to get a system I'm hardly gonna use between now and then and one that will likely see a severe enough price drop that I could gain by waiting. It's not like my credit is going anywhere...

There was a deal where if you trade in games worth at least three dollars in trade and you trade in 10-20, you get an extra $5 PER GAME. So...I got a list of games that had $3 trade from a bud, went over to the local games store, bought a whack of games for average of about $3.50 each and traded them for $8 each. Did this with 67 games and converted $277+tax into $590+tax

The sad thing is, more people won't click that link to check out his work...personally, I think that stuff deserves to be seen by everyone. It's that awesome.

I saw it and I think it's not only hilarious, but surprisingly well done. Considering how fast he talks, and how much custom animation there is, and how much sync he has between talking and footage, it must have taken a long fucking time.

But just so you don't feel <i>too</i> good, I saw it linked from another board.

EDIT: "Makeup apparently applied by a Kiss fan with Parkinsons' Disease" is totally awesome and I'm totally stealing it.

I had seen it previously and it was accurate. If all of Sony's exclusives turn out this mediocre (or at least their demos), it's not looking like it will last for 10 years. I remain excited for warhawk to come out when I get back from pax.

Lies....I found it. Me. Which gives me partial artistic credit for the work by giving it exposure.

I'm just glad others found it as awesome as I did. He's gonna have weekly submissions via The Escapist - might get old, but I'm definately looking forward to more.

Well, I wasn't trashing Heavenly Sword...maybe it'll turn out good, who knows. I just like the video review.

As for Warhawk, I heard it got a 6.5 in PSM, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

seriously? 6.5? what is my ps3 supposed to do? I tried to cure cancer, but then all the fans kicked in and it was too loud and I was scared it would kill my 360, so I turned it off.... all it does is play ff6 and makes me not play guitar hero!!!!! AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!

I would have preferred ignorance on the warhawk subject.... my world is now ruined.

Speaking of PS3 fans kicking in, we have a 23 node PS3 cluster here in our server room, and it burns like a thousand suns. It's like we have space heaters in the racks.

We have 25 in total. One is literally sitting in pieces on the desk next to me.

This is why i didn't bother getting a PS3 even though I could have at less than half price. Really, only MGS4 I'm lookin' forward to and if they hit their March release date, that sucker will be mine on the 360 in November. If not, I'll just rent or borrow the damned system. There's zero else on the system I would want and only about 4 others I would get that we know of through next year (Little Big Planet and God of War being the only real solid possibilities).

My credit was better spent getting things like Bioshock, Persona 3, Rock Band complete set, GTA4 Collector's Pack, and other games than the system.

I guess so, since as far as I can tell, hat's just a term for a cluster made out of commodity components.
