There's always been a strong August listing of games, at least for the last few generations. I think they're trying to avoid the big fall games that start in September. Goldeneye was an August game back in the day

I'm looking forward to Lost Odyssey from what I've seen of it. I never really gave a shit about Blue Dragon and especially not now that I've played the demo.

Yeah, the demo spoiled me on it too (but realistically, anyone who was really interested in BD saw the lackluster import reviews well before the demo).
Will I buy? Probably, like the good little RPG gamer. It'll sit next to Enhanted Arms and serve the same purpose....to moderately entertain me after I've finished playing better games.
Mass Effect, NHL 08, Halo 3, Two Worlds, Bioshock, Stranglehold, Eternal Sonata, CoD4...man, there is way too much crap I'm going to have to play this Fall...

Read some reviews on it and/or play the demo on XBL... it's not the stellar JRPG Xbox exlusive we were looking for. It's the same shit, different packaging, horrible story... and having 3 (or 4?) discs the first one is totally boring and uninteresting.
I was saddened too
If anything Stranglehold looks good now going by the demo.

Is it really that bad?
...b...but...
It looked so GOOD.

Blue Dragon was rushed.
Phoenix Wright 3 is a certain purchase for me =)

I may have to do a comic about Blue Dragon's demo, or something.
Basically, imagine that you do some things every battle. Then, after a predetermined number of turns, your blue avatar thingy does a DBZ-style fireball at the press of a single button and annihilates all your foes, who by the way are polka-dotted pieces of poo.
Akira Toriyama's character designs seem lively but largely wasted. Download the demo and see for yourself!

I can't judge things on a Demo, though, 'cause most demos suck, or else only show the basic stuff.
I mean, look at the FFXII demo. Fun as hell, but dead easy.

the ff12 demo was godawful. it actually made me not want the game. the final product was brilliant but the demo was tripe

I disagree, download the DiRT demo off of XBL or PSN and that demo pretty much encapsulates the entire game.... with less cars and tracks. Also, that game = pretty great, I just rented it, but I enjoyed the fuck out of it.

They made a game about Joan of Arc? Ah, must have slipped completely by the radar.
On a side note, if anyone has Civilization 4, GET BEYOND THE SWORD, that expansion was just recently released, and I have found that it has renewed my interest in the series. While Warlords improved the existing game, Beyond the Sword takes it to Civ 4.5, there is a lot more play involved, right now I am playing with the outer-space mod. Essentially this mod changes the world map into outer space; the background is very reminiscant of Xenosaga. I played some similar type things on Civilization 2, but those mods generally sucked, this one does everything so well, the graphics are beautiful, the orbiting planets, everything! To give a bit more info on the scope of this, there is also a mod which converts the game into an X-Com style title (X-Com was an old Microprose title, Microprose being the old Civilization development company before Firaxis).
I don't have the time to list off all the features now, but I will say, like every expansion to the series, there are new scenarios (with vastly different styles of gameplay that actually work well) and the regular game has new techs, new wonders, new leaders, and a bunch of new Civilizations; oh, and victory condition improvements. Etc.....

Dude! October 23, 2007 Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations Capcom Adventure
I got Rune Factory instead, it's the RPG/Adventure version of Harvest Moon, the game had my interest when I first read about it a couple of years ago, but it is turning out to be a lot better than I thought. It Re-invents the series quite nicely.

I imported PW3, there's an English option.

How's Jeanne D'Arc tomorrow working out for ya? I have no idea what type of game it is...
And as far as Two Worlds goes, I hear it's a shitty Oblivion.

Errr did you just copy and paste my post and accidently put tomorrow in there?
Jeanne D'Arc is very fun, I'm getting that classic FFT feel that I enjoyed so much.
