Worth mentioning that this time, it's published bt Microsoft....which is actually pretty wierd...

PS3 port seems unlikely and I can't help but wonder just how much MS threw at Tecmo/TN to secure that title.

Got Ninja Gaiden Black. Glorified Tenchu IMO. That's not a good thing...

I played it for about an hour and a half or so, made it to some sort of village then just got bored. Not frustrated due to the difficulty (wasn't THAT hard up to that point) just bored.

I rarely take any criticism on your taste seriously - opinion is opinion in my view. But the fact that you just compared NG to Tenchu is not a matter of opinion - it just makes you retarded.

Zeus... fuck. Tenchu? Did you really just do that?

I think it's about time for you to trade in your controller for a Wii Fit boogie board (thanks again, Tess).

I didn't really get into it. I played it enough to get a feel for it, but got bored with it. I basically had the same reaction as I did when I played the original Tenchu back in the day, hence the comparison. It also felt like Tenchu with stylized action as opposed to stealth. Seemed to be a lot of style over substance. That could just be a "3D ninja game" thing but that's how I felt playin' it.

I do admit that I may not have played it enough to really get into it but I also didn't have any real reason to. To me, games and movies need to give me a reason to keep spending my time on them. Bioshock did and I couldn't put it down. But Ninja Gaiden just didn't. Just like Garden State didn't give me any real reason to keep watching after 35 minutes of NOTHING.

Yes.

He did. Zeus, get the fuck out of your own thread.

I will agree again, however, that Garden State was garbage. Hey Barret, you hear me?

Ninja Gaiden and Garden State were both awesome! Fuck you guys! You all suck da c0k!

I do remember Zeus comparing Ninja Gaiden to Tenchu before, and yes, it was just as retarded then as it was now. It's like comparing a basketball player with a bowl of fruit.

Or you can just re-read my well written and as yet uncontested opinion on why the comparison is totally stupid

Oh, and Zeus, you have a short attention span, too. Sometimes movies aren't going to pop out to you in only 30 minutes time. Shit, if I've watched that much of a movie, I might as well watch the rest. I think to do anything else would be to rob me of my 30 minutes. I would rather watch a whole movie and risk wasting 2 hours, than watch only 30 minutes, and not be certain that it's going to suck or actually be great.

Oh, I liked Garden State. But to compare it and <i>Ninja Gaiden</i> is insane.

Anybody who likes Garden State is subject to random beatings in my books. Worse than It's Pat: The Movie.

No, man, it has zero to do with attention span (I have one of the longer ones of anyone you've met; I ain't no Ridalin baby). It's a simple choice on whether or not to spend the time on it. I'm not a fan of slow-moving films, I like plot movement or, in light of a minimal amount of that, strong character development. SOMETHING happening to keep me interested. Entertain me, inform me, make me cry, show me some crazy-ass action, make me laugh....it doesn't matter, just give me a reason to keep watching. Garden State did not do this.

And it's not like I watched 5 minutes and said "this sucks ass" and stopped; I watched about a third of the film. 35 minutes and NOTHING happened. And I don't mean nothing in the Seinfeld way of nothing. I mean, there was zero character development (there's a difference between characters talking and characters developing), zero plot, zero action, zero comedy, zero emotion, zero anything. I could watch my wall and be just as entertained as watching that film.

So the choice comes down to: do I commit the next hour to this film or do I watch 3 anime episodes, 1 1/2 episodes of an hour long TV show (that ain't no typo), or play a game for an hour? Why continue with the film when I've been given zero reason to? Cellular, a brutally bad film, gave me a reason to keep watching (the whole "train wreck" idea) but Garden State didn't. So I turned off and spent my free time doing something I wanted rather than wasting an hour of my life on something I just didn't care about. There's no obligation to movies or entertainment in general. If it ain't worth it, do something else.

Garden State is a BEAUTIFUL movie. Zach Braff shows that he's more than just a dork--he's actually a good indie film maker as well.

Though, I am not sure if Garden State is an indie film...

I haven't played Tenchu, NG, or even watched Garden State so I have nothing to add to this thread... I just love that a reference of mine was made :P

Carry on *grabs popcorn*
