This makes me even more sure that the "Wii-ner" filter is kali's work, by the way, but I guess it could still be Sine acting the fool.

You know what, Sine? "Awesome?" Now that you've noticed this childishness?

Fuck you. Fuck your stupid, redneck ass to hell. And you call kali a good admin. The funny thing is that Seeker *might* me amused, and will certainly be less pissed off than me, but I'm tired of the both of you.

Damn Nev, who pissed in your bowl of Cranky Flakes?

Seek nearly begs to be called out on the obnoxious statements he makes about this shit... and if Sine wants to waste his Saturday morning combing through old threads then so be it.

I don't get what your big fucking deal is with them messing around a little bit. It's not really an "abuse" of power or anything, it's just funny... not very funny, but funny. I can understand if Seek has a big problem with it, but there's no malice to this and no reason why you should be getting so bent out of shape. Save that rage if they start altering his threads or banning him entirely... if the target of this isn't pissed then why the hell are you? Seek always seems to take this with good fun to a degree.

Go take a walk or something man... you're getting WAY too serious about this shit.

You did, Tessie. You pissed in my Cranky Flakes. You did!

It's contrary to the spirit I felt I was trying to establish with this place, back in the day. It's Sine's board now, but fuck it, I guess that entitles him to ban whoever he feels like, and appoint admins who apparently can ____ with Seek, but I can't ____ with him.

Perhaps I'm whining, but I'm perfectly entitled to feel certain people are wastes of carbon.

I have to admit that I find this fairly immature and stupid as well. There may be no malice behind it, but still. Its just...kinda..dumb.

I wasn't talking about bouncing, just the administration...

I could potentially see myself not sticking around, but it hasn't come to that yet, so let's just not go there. And it's really no cosmic injustice either way, probably.

Hey Nev, if you restart the Shrine in a new location without the existence of moderators like the ones we currently have, then yeah you can count me in. I think it's pathetic that I have to change my name due to some admin abusing his powers.

What is Kali doing as a moderator anyway? He should have been removed a long time ago. We brought in moderators to control the ad spam, which is no longer a problem. Now the biggest problem with misuse of the board seems to be the moderators.

PostPosted:Sat Sep 22, 2007 2:12 pm
by M'k'n'zy
I agree with the opinion that changing the filter to do that to someone's handle is an abuse of mod powers. Mods exist to get rid of spam and break up flame wars. Something like this is something that just shouldn't happen.

I love Seek, half my posts on the board are either defending him or attacking him in some way. Without Seek, I'd be bored as hell. Changing that filter to spit out a different word is something I've been dying to do for weeks, lol...I just needed an excuse.

"Oh no!!! Kali played with the censor to make it so that everytime someone wrote Seeker, it said 'Wii-ner' for 24 hours!!! OMG Kali you douche-fuck!! How would you like it if everytime someone wrote Kali, it said 'M$ whore'?@! You'd curl up in a ball and cry!!!"

Hahahaha. I don't care what you say, that word censor function was funny as hell. The rest of you have Kupek or Sine if you wanna get revenge on me - just PM them something clever. These "mod functions" aren't in my sole control, you can all use them too and you'll never hear me bitch if they are used against me :)

Edit: As for you Nev, I endlessly enjoy your "Back when I created the internet..." stories, especially when you try to turn everything I do into some Hitler-baby-eating drama of epic proportions. We'll ignore the fact that if you ran the Shrine instead of Sine, you'd be mass deleting threads everytime you had one of your little weekly breakdowns.

call me crazy, but I don't think that's going to help or solve anything. Seek and Nev want blood, and some people want mod-misuse (dicking around) to not happen and other people don't care either way. I don't think your solution is what anyone wants. Political science solution to appease everyone would be to stop dicking around to appease those people and issue an apology to nev and seek. This would avert revolution/exodus and maintain the patriarchal, liberal status quo on the board with minimal short and long-term consequences. Continued moderator activity on the same stream would cause mild through major disruptions in the community.

Eh, I was looking through the archives for Seeker quotes and thought to myself "Man, people sure used M$Whore alot..." Then I came back here and realized what was up, hahah - uhhh, I mean, Waaaaah. Nev, if you ever start another site, I'm totally there dude. Fuck Sine's abuse!

*cough*

Anyway Bovine, let me help clarify what's really up. Seeker doesn't care - he acts hurt because it plays into Nev's drama and Seek thinks it's funny (I agree). For Seek to actually care, it would require we ignore that Seek has justified maliciously attacking others, almost to the point of forcing them to leave, as "fun for him and it's not his fault if people dysfunctionally sensitive". The real amusing part here, is that last time Seek did that, I actually think Nev was the target, lol.

As for Nev, his mangina is still in a pinch because he did something stupid and lost admin privs. Because of that, he will continue to find any slight he can in myself, and to some extent Sine, and drum up whatever dramatics he can.

I am tempted to move this thread outta GT and into DS...but man, I'm worried about the hissy-fit that would follow, lol.

Also, with Microsofts online features, 50 bucks American per year (That's like 80 Canadian), and you MUST pay this fee to play online games on the Xbox. Gamecube and PS2 leave the charging fee up to the company which may use any server for online games with no extra monthly fee's. This will mean that Nintendo and Sony have the edge on the online market which Microsoft has invested so much money into.

Comparing the Gamecube and Xbox, In North America by March 31st Gamecube had sold 2.23 million units. Microsoft stated that they had sold 1.8 million units by April 15th. North America is Microsofts Home territory, and the Xbox has failed to sell in Europe and Japan, I believe the numbers in Europe numbered around 120,000 and in Japan somewhere around 200,000, which means the Xbox has sold roughly 2,120,000 units which is less than the Gamecubes north American sales alone by March 31st.

So much for Microsoft monopolizing the industry =P

I have to agree with Kali -- I definitely don't respect Seek in any sense of the word, but I do willingly admit that without him this place would be significantly duller. At least I know most of the time with Seek attacks people it's for fun because he's inconsiderate and selfish. When Nev does it it's because someone probably molested him at a young age and the Shrine was his only outlet and now he thinks his "happy place" is falling apart...

And then look at what's happened now-- we have lurkers actually POSTING not once but TWICE in one day and just a whole further stimulation of activity here. Was it short sighted and shallow for Kali to do it? Probably, but I love what the end effect.

In the future though further abuse of admin powers, no matter the severity or intent, should be stopped. There are plenty of other ways to create some sparks and it doesn't require mod abilities. I was considering posting a link on DS about a man who's filed a police report because a Halloween store had some suggestive costumes on display and his little girl was corrupted forever under the headline "Nev goes shopping" but I'm afraid he'd cry and create a tear in his mangina so I decided not to.

When is this from? 360 or original Xbox? Either way I was hoping for some better / more damning quotes like "Microsoft will pull out of the industry by 2006" or "No one will pay for multiplayer!". That'd be almost as funny as Nev's claim in the other thread that FPS's suck on consoles.

Before I played with titles or the filter, likely most of you didn't even know they could be easily messed with. That's not "mod abuse", it's playing with tools.

In the process of playing with/learning the tools, I sparked some drama. Everyone who knows me, would expect nothing less. We can all lie to ourselves for the sake of forum drama and try to make it seem as if calling seek a "wii-ner" is the end-of-the-fucking-world-as-we-know-it, but everyone realizes it isn't (except Nev:).

Will I access those tools again? Likely, if someone asks me too (especially for titles). I doubt it will be of my own initative though - only funny the first time, imo. *shrug*

PS - If my new filter is gonna stay for more than 24 hours, please randomly change it to something more clever every once and awhile :)

I've actually changed my mind slightly - using the filter to screw around was a bad idea (though not because of Seek's feigned hurt feelings, Nev's swollen vagina, black lotus's shitty sense of humor, "mod abuse" or anything else that was mentioned).

I've noticed, especially since Sine censored my name, the readability of posts is effected. It is getting progressively difficult to tell what is going on - especially for anyone coming to the party late and has no idea what this thread is about.

(the brief explaination: I changed it so that all instances of "Seeker" became "Wii-ner", then I changed it back. Sine made all instances of "K a l i" become "M$Whore" - that currently remains).

In that way it differs from, say, changing forum titles. Anything that effects actual posts is a bad idea...a shame you useless dolts couldn't offer me this persuasive reasoning and I had to see it for myself. I still think it was funny, but it's not appropriate to play with O:)

So keep in mind this is Unconfirmed:

General news

-Disaster Day of Crisis and Project Hammer are almost complete and will be released as filler titles (right now Nintendo is still focussing on releasing easily accessible multiplayer titles for their marketing campaign of the Wii (Reggie's get the Wiimote into as many hands as possible, which has been a gigantic success to date)
-Not sure what they're going to be, but there are some giant VC titles that will be launched in the next few months
-Zelda Wii in 2009, Probably Nintendo's major title for the system,
-Mario Kart and Animal Crossing in 08
-There will be a major Kirby title released somewhere in the Wii's lifecycle (probably near the end, this is when the Kirby games usually come out, see NES and SNES in particular)
-Mario and Sonic Olympics has a lot of development resources behind it
-Nintendo has invested far more in third parties than ever before

The following 3 games are all scheduled for this year and are said to be on schedule to be released sooner than people think:

Metroid Prime 3: Combined beams, online play (no specification on the modes), and something called corruption mode and hyper mode (I am not sure what this means)

Super Mario Galaxy: Multiplayer

Super Smash-Brothers Brawl:

-Multiple controller support (Not entirely sure, I assume it means GC controller or classic controller, hopefully just the Wiimote on its own as well, I actually feel very comfortable using it like an NES controller)
-The main game uses no motion controls
-The game will feature approximately 50 characters
-Online multiplayer
-New character info to be released soon (whatever that means)
-No more clone characters, they'll all be unique
-Some of the new characters will be HUGE surprises
-Not all characters will return (probably means child Link, Roy, and a few others) but the original line-up on N64 will be all present
-additional costumes and other visual customization features
-The game is very well balanced compared to previous versions
-New items to use (bob-bombs included)
-Classic modes will be featured, the Adventure mode will be much larger

E3 cancelled felt as though Christmas was cancelled! But at least we're getting some good news.

In my opinion, Nintendo will be announcing this information very soon since it seems to be suddenly now floating around through different circles tied to the company.

There's an online mode that revolves around voucher sharing. Though no online multiplayer.

It appears that Project Hammer has been cancelled as of this month. Too bad, it looked like it could have been promising. It was on the shelf according to NoA a bit earlier.
