I think I played this game before. Oh, yeah. Resident Evil 4.

Between this and Seeker's stupid comment about western RPGs, I don't know who has the more incorrect statement as of late. Umbrella Chronicles is an on-rails "light gun" retelling of the events of RE0-3. Not even the same genre as RE4.

Cut scenes look nice, gameplay looks no better than House of the Dead. And by that, I mean it looks antiquated. Have fun with this. I think I can wait for RE5 for my RE fix.

Now wait a minute. If you take RE4 and put it on the Wii (oh yeah, already done), wouldn't that also be a "light gun" game? With the Wii remote, isn't everything that has a gun in the game and a pointer system a "light gun" game?

Hell, I figured the main reason they ported over RE4 to the Wii was to get a good grasp of the pointer system for games like this.

No. Jesus Christ.

Well this is besides the point, but the reason I had "light gun" in quotes was because technically it's not, so we can stop referring to it as such. It's LIKE a light gun game, but with a cursor/reticle... which for me really destroys the immersion factor, I guess, since you can just place the reticle on a zombie's head instead of trying to actually aim with the gun.

As I recall, you're the one who made stupid incorrect statements by calling Knights of the Old Republic an example of a classic RPG, and also Mass Effect (You can't call something a classic that hasn't been released yet). And also your incorrect blanket statement on what the plotline on Japanese developed RPGs are as opposed to North American developed ones.

This isn't about Seeker's crap opinion of Western RPGs, this is about calling RE4 a Light-gun game.

So Knights of the Old Republic isn't a modern classic because you've said so? MANY would disagree. I think just about everybody here who has played it would.

And most JRPGs are as I described! Doesn't mean I like them any less. Hell, I've played just as many JRPGs as you in my time.

Seriously. Let's keep the madness contained to as few threads as possible, please!

The game should do fairly well saleswise, it is out in a couple of weeks, and Resident Evil 4 passed a million according to Capcom, WAY above their total sales expectation. I look forward to see how this game progresses on the market. As it stands, I still feel Resident Evil 4 is the current best game available for the Wii, it is loads of fun and feels really good with the control scheme.

Umbrella Chronicles is GREAT fanservice for any fans of the Resident Evil series as it digs deeper into the story than any of the previous games have ever done before. It is also highly cinematic. I am going to guess that this game will also pass a million by the end of the fiscal year.
