Looks like, from reports I have been hearing, that it couldn't even attract 20K guests, and it is obvious it failed to generate much press. No where near PAX which had 37K.

Yeah, it was around 18,000 from what I read. I really thing the industry badly needs something like this. If anything, it needs to be more like a road show and held in various cities to interact with more consumers. I hope it does well next year and stays aroundDutch wrote:Looks like, from reports I have been hearing, that it couldn't even attract 20K guests, and it is obvious it failed to generate much press. I was arguing this exact point with my bud at Ubisoft. But the industry sees it as a waste of money, that's why they killed E3. We just need to hope that E for All picks up steam over the next couple of yearsSineSwiper wrote:If it's really "E for All", it needs to be a roadshow. After all, I've never been to any E3 conference because it's always so fucking far away.
Personally I feel that PAX is going to continue to grow further. E For All was a failure, and it looked like no one on the development side of things even went except perhaps Sony and Nintendo and some in the LA area.Zeus wrote:I was arguing this exact point with my bud at Ubisoft. It's more an allocation of marketing dollars than taking away from game development. They don't overlap the vast majority of the time.Kupek wrote:I'm not being snide: is it worth their money? What do they gain by putting on a carnival? Keep in mind that money spent on an event specifically targeting gamers (not the gaming press) takes money away from conventional advertising campaigns and game development.
It wasn't a failure yet. Give it another year or two and we'll see.Dutch wrote:Personally I feel that PAX is going to continue to grow further.
