November is getting by and there's a lot of people who want a Wii for Christmas, buy them for 250, sell for 400, the math isn't difficult =)

Example:

Seeker is lazy

that's just sad... a year later they're still being sold out everywhere? Or is everyone being too lazy to find them?

It is just in high demand because it is the holiday season. Lots of new games coming out including Mario Galaxy as well as Christmas upcoming. It is likely still available in a lot of areas, and well, you could be making $150 on each item sold on Ebay.

They're still selling within a day of delivery. And Mario being released doesn't help that. They really can't make them fast enough

They're all sold out everywhere here, and there are lineups in the morings again. Plus stores are again limiting customers to one unit. So I think my idea of a before Christmas Ebay venture is now out of the question.

On supply issues, Nintendo supposedly shipped 1.8 million Wii units in October, and are shipping 2 million in November and another 2 million in December, but that isn't going to be enough. Though this 2 million per month shipment rate is supposedly indefinitely.

Long URLs suck!

Wii + Wiiplay = $580, that's about double the price of the products. That's with an additional 40 dollars shipment.

In the immortal words of Tony Montana: "Serious money", if you can get your hands on a bunch of them at retail price as the Ebay price will only increase for the next month. Unfortunately there are none available online, Amazon got 1400 units posted and they sold out instantly. The stores here all have lineups of several hours every day, and sales limits of 1 per customer. So I am out of luck here.

If you look to the sales ending just before Christmas, they're banking on $800.

This one also sucks!

Hmm. I wonder if their misleading descriptions (counting each mini game in Wii Sports and Wii Play as a separate game) helped sell the console. I don't think I'd have a problem buying a Wii in my area, but I realize it's different in large metropolitan areas.

Even in my city (2 cities with about 350k between them stuck together and another city right beside us with about 100k) it's impossible to find one. On Friday my bud's EB, which you can't see from the road and is just down the road from the mall one, got 17 Wiis which they managed to sell in under 2 hours. Essentially, that's how long it took people to figure out they had them (I visit him for lunch every Saturday and he gets essentially a call every 5 minutes asking if Wiis are in stock) and go get them.

They are just as hard to find right now as they were at this time last year, it's nuts. I've been quite tempted to buy one and get some used games to go with it and sell it on Ebay. But knowing my luck with stuff like that, mine would be the one that gets ignored while all the other auctions go for 3x as much. Too much of a risk for me right now

Amazon actually took 10 minutes to sell those 1400 Wiis.

Kupek, buy up those Wiis and sell them on Ebay, that's a few extra thousand dollars in your pocket if you can find enough of them. Wii is impossible to find mostly everywhere else and there are many people looking for them.

I just spoke to my bud and let him know about this and he told me that he got 9 in this morning and they sold in under half an hour.

It's really, really crazy for these systems right now. It's gonna get downright nasty as we get closer and closer to Xmas. The nastier it gets, the higher my temptation goes in selling one or ten on Ebay :-)

Whoah, you could have actually got some. They are sold out immediately around here, and only one allowed per customer. This is a University town though, and we have historically been short on popular videogame hardware and software. Even the DS sells out here quite often, the PSP has also been known to sell out here.
