Not to threadjack... but while there is no front runner on either side yet-- I think you underestimate just how many people refuse to consider a female president and how many refuse to consider hillary clinton a female... I mean people who hate hillary clinton.

Hillary Clinton = Clinton 2: Bush Harder ;)

I've said many times if Hilary runs she'll get shot before she takes office. There's no chance in hell the real powers at be would let her win

She'll never get that far... I pray Obama wins the primary even though I fear he has as good a chance as Hillary at the presidency... none.

I don't really pay attention to American politics anymore, but what is bad about Hillary Clinton? I haven't really heard anything bad about her from others. I heard she even showed cleavage at some point.

I'll just answer this part since the other would take way too long to answer... I can only summarize that up as saying the only way she could be considered female is biologically.

As for your quote above-- do you know too many people who dig nasty grandma cleavage?

I'm almost afraid to ask, but who do you consider to be the real power at be?

The big business owners. Do you honestly think they'll allow a woman to set the stage for their businesses? They live off of things being the way they are, you think they're gonna allow the possibility of emotions running the country? Hell, Clinton (the male one) was just as favourable if not more towards them and his/their buddies (didn't he pardon a record number of people in his last few months?) than anyone, this isn't a partisan thing. It's just reality whether you choose to open you eyes to it or not.

Before you say "fuck, Zeus, you're a conspiracy nut" think about it. There's WAAAAY too much correlation between business and politicians (fuck, people move between the two almost on a weekly basis) on so many levels. I really don't have to spell out specific examples, you've probably run across hundreds. Then you toss in the lobby groups and their transparent buying up of politicians and it's not that hard to see who really runs the country. Money talks, bullshit walks.....and all the politicians have is bullshit, loads and loads of bullshit. They need it to make the public think they actually have a say in their country.

At some point, people will realize we live in a capitalistic society as opposed to a democratic one. It's merely a veil of democracy. But I've made this argument here before and I'm pretty sure no one buys it. I've spent the last decade trying to come up with a better explanation, but their ain't one.

BTW, what the fuck is this thread, which has been cut out of another, doing in GT?

Odd, you just proved a point as to why she would win, not why she wouldn't... you think if she wins she'll really be the one in power? Haha hell no... it'll be Bill Clinton pulling the strings; he ain't going to be "First lady" and she won't be the first female president without some major concessions.

Think of it-- do you think she's above the idea of agreeing to being a puppet if it means she can go down in history as the first US female president? I think not, and it's the only way she'll become it.

One, I think you guys are over paranoid about sexism in this country. There are plenty of women CEOs, and they aren't getting assassinated left and right. Nor would they be in line to assassinate a woman president.

Two, I could give two shits if Hillary is a woman. She's still a bitch. I don't like her for three reasons:

A. She waltz into New York, a state they never lived in, and a few months later, declares that she's going to be senator. I call that carpetbagging.

B. She can't take a shit without first taking a poll on whether the public thinks she should do so. She has no mind of her own. "But, isn't that following your state's audience, which is the whole point of being a congressperson?" Not really. If our forefathers believed that the public was intelligent enough to make everyday decisions in Congressional voting, they would have thrown out the idea of representatives and just had everybody vote on every issue.

Instead, we rely on representatives to be intelligent enough to follow through on ideals in Congress. Many of them are lawyers or at least have an understanding of how law works. And some of their decisions may not be favorable to the public. Why? Because the public either doesn't have enough information and/or they are just stupid. (Case in point, 80% of the population of KY voted for a state consitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. Most of the people in Jefferson County/Louisville voted against it, because they've actually met a gay person before.)

C. She is historically known as a selfish bitch that only thinks of herself. See point A, and her stance on video games, as well as other issues. Any time you're standing next to Robert Kennedy on an issue, you know you're there just for grandstanding the wrong issue. (There's another useless career politician. I hope he runs his car into a lake and drowns.)

Not really. She doesn't actually care about what she votes for, so if she hits the yes or no button doesn't matter to her. But, those hefty donations for one choice or another certainly help her get higher and higher into positions of power. (Remember, nobody donates money unless you give them a voting history that benefits them. Certainly a lot of banks and media companies in that list.)

Your politics are so much more interesting than ours. At least when your politicians rape you in the ass (don't start dreamin') you guys stand up and say "what the FUCK?!?!". Not to mention you actually have regular referendum on whether or not you want to pay extra taxes to build an arena for the Lightning or something.

Here in Canada no one cares enough to do anything about anything and we're not involved in our politics in any way (the referendum we had in Ontario in October was the first one in 80 YEARS, and likely the last for a century).

Errr, you find old people voting in referendums on taxes for buildings interesting?

Anyway, if you like the US so much, move there. It is just an hour away from you.

I keep a healthy eye on the political landscape--especially nowdays.

Hillary looks to be...well, first off, the "big corporations" would LOVE to have her as president. She has about as many corporate ties as Bush and Cheney do, and as Democrats go, she's pretty damn conservative.

She's, effectively, Bush with a vagina.

We NEED Ron Paul.

But, we won't GET Ron Paul.

And so, we continue to spin aimlessly.

No, I prefer the POLITICAL system of the US over ours. Far more involving for the masses.

Wtf is the internet's fascination with Ron Paul? I can't figure out if it's because people wanted to see if the internet community could take the least likely candidate and get him elected... or if it's more like a retard's fascination with a dog's anus.

I'm more with Sine on this one, the vast majority of commoners are too stupid to know what is good for them; they're more likely to vote in some demagogue than someone who will actually bring peace and prosperity to a nation. Though I do see value in representation, I don't see value in tyranny and stupidity of the masses.
