  • Good videogame sales figures for Japan and UK

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

DS also broke the UK weeks sales record for the third time this season, this time shattering it (184K by PS2, then DS broke it with 187K, then 191K, and now 211K) http://www.mcvuk.com/news/29170/DS-smas ... are-record The DS broke the monthly record last year, but I forget the figures now and am too lazy to look them up. It'll surely break them again this year.

Though, unfortunately for Wii, there is a massive worldwide sales shortage, and stores are reporting now that they don't expect more units until next year. This will cause heavy damage to sales, Wii continues to sell on Ebay for $500+.

So who developed/published the Olympics game? The Jap numbers say Nintendo while the UK says Sega.

I think Nintendo published it in Japan while Sega did in Europe. Keep in mind Sega is a popular brand name in Europe. WHile Nintendo won here and in Japan, Sega won in Europe during the 16-bit era.

From what I hear Sonic and Mario Olympics is not really a casual type game, as people were expecting. In other words, there is a steep learning and improving process; so it's a game that won't be fun for parties like Wii Sports or Wario Ware.
