I must say that I should thank and congratulate this Jew on his achievement. Thank him because without him I may not be in the work field I am in today.

December 20, 2007 - Today the 2008 Developers Choice Awards has named its "Pioneer" recipient: Ralph Baer, creator of the Magnavox Odyssey and the "father of videogames." The Odyssey was the first home console, released commercially in 1972.
The Developers Choice Awards are held during the Game Developers Conference each year. The award show will be held on February 20 in San Francisco.
The Pioneer award (itself pioneering a new award category, as this is its inaugural year) recognizes individuals who have contributed the advancement of the videogame industry through technology, concept, or gameplay design. Ralph Baer holds the patents for the method and apparatus of videogames. The hardware he used to build the Odyssey in the late 60s is held in places like the Smithsonian and the Japanese National Science Museum.
"Ralph Baer invented video games," said Jamil Moledina, executive director of the Game Developers Conference. "In the inaugural year of the Pioneer Award at the Game Developers Choice Awards, it felt natural to bestow that award on the man who established our entire industry. Ralph is an inspiration to all who attend our conference, and we are proud to host this opportunity for our attendees to recognize and thank the creator of their vocation and art form."
