Wii Fit, a new gaming craze?

It seems to be very very hot in Japan, now with over 1 million shipped (and the product selling out very quickly). I can see it doing very popular in Canada and Europe as well. The US is a big question mark though.

Depends on the games being designed for it. I'd be interested if the games were fun. Anything to get my lazy butt off the couch for a little bit. :)

I predicted this would be huge when I first saw it unveiled. Miyamoto is putting everything behind it--he's said himself that it's his favorite project thus far.

It's a good idea in any sense--it'll come packaged with a fitness "game", but they've promised that the feet movement technology will also be featured into other games...

That is, if developers are brave enough.

If third parties are just now making good use of the wiimote, you can look forward to plenty of crappy skateboading/snowboarding games before you get a good one.

It's going to be huge. Alpha moms ahoy!

Of course, it combines two of my favourite past times, videogames and execise. Considering how much I love Wii Sports tennis, I think this will probably be one of my most played games of 2008.

OMG, how can you like that game? It was fun for the first time for 3 games... then i realized i dont control anything and its the most simplistic controls in the entire world. I mean, you can cant even run yourself... wtf?

Although it does make you long BIG TIME for Virtua Tennis Wii, the Wii Sports Tennis is still pretty fun as a silly distraction. It's a tech demo so you're getting very little options (it's quite limited gameplay) but what's there is enough to entertain yourself for a bit.

The Wii Sports Bowling to me is the best one overall and the closest to a full game on there

My bad, that was Seeker. I blame working until past 9 the last 3 days and trying to squeeze in a few posts before anyone sees.

While a boogie game would be a cool concept, it would work MUCH better with a DDR pad, not a balance board.

Why do you think I like it? I like it because it fucking rocks! =)

And its fun playing Wii Sports with hot bitches =)

I think you miswrote your post, this game the same development team as Virtua Tennis (Sumo Digital), based off of the Virtua Tennis 3 engine. It has nothing to do with Mario Tennis.

Personally I look forward to what they will do with a Tony Hawk or SSX game using the balance board.

It's a copy of Mario Tennis gameplay-wise

I want the Virtua Tennis gameplay regardless of who developed it or what engine it's based on

Umm, Sega Superstar Tennis DOES have Virtua Tennis 3 gameplay. I don't even see how that link makes you think it is like Mario Tennis considering the HUD is identical to Virtua Tennis 3 and not at all like Mario Tennis.
