video game dream team

Let's say you're trying to form a team of fictional game characters to stop some impossibly powerful evil. Any ability that you might use that automatically guaranteeds victory will be trumped by more impossible powers. If you picked a living god (roughly half of the characters in video games) the enemy will be able to kill a living god. If you can rewind time they'd be able to un-rewind time. So basically no matter who you pick, there is no guaranteed of un-killability. You team can be of arbitrary size, consist of heroes, villians, and villagers alike. Who would you use?
Here's my guys:
Megaman X (MMX) - No other hero in video game history has as much experience under his belt, even if his abilities are nothing spectcular. He brings veteran leadership and whininess, and if he dies, no one will miss him anyway.
Solid Snake (MGS2) - Another veteran hero who's seen it all and done it all. He also takes care of any ammuniition needs the rest of your team may need, and his scouting/assassination skills is quite rare amongst superheroes.
Larsa (FF12) - The man with a million X-Potions. Along with Solid Snake, you will have all the infrastructure and supplies you need to wager an effective war against evil. Unlimited items does not guaranteed victory, but will certainly help a lot.
Cid (FF12) - The brains of the group, and if needed he can inject your superheroes with steroids (Nethicites) for some augmented abilty.
Sephiroth, Cloud, Link, and Mario - I think those are the 4 most popular characters in the Gamefaqs poll. Although they do not possess any special skills so far as superheroes/villians are concerned, every team needs some cannon fodder/grunt to do the actual work.
Laguna Loire (FF8) - The motivator of the group, and he actually comes up with reasonably good plans that work as intended when executed correctly. His defeat of Sorceress Adel still stands as the only time where an evil has been sealed away as expected by a plan, as opposed to having the plan fail and then needing to beat the said evil to submission with brute force.
