It's out

Right up there with Sin & Punishment as one of the very best downloadable games on the consoles that were overlooked in the past

And yet, you won't download it for 800 measly points? Really a great game.

If anybody hasn't played it, I would highly recommend grabbing it.

I've already beaten it.

If I saw it on a DVD for $10 I'd get it no problem. I'm not a fan of digital downloads, far too many restrictions

So, if you saw it on a DVD for $10, you'd buy it, but you wouldn't buy it for $10 on a digital download, right? You do know that when you download the game, you have it on your HD for life (and then if you lose the HD, you can still download it again for free).

No, I have it only for as long as Live is around and my HD lasts

Whatever.

The new replay feature is nice. Being able to replay some of the top scorers in the game can give you a good idea on how to get better scores. For example, knowing how many hits it takes to kill an enemy is real important to getting high scores and keeping up with the action.

And yet, I'm the only person here who has downloaded the game so far. What the fuck is wrong with you people? :)

I buy a copy of the game to play it when I wish not a licence only to be played for as long as the licensor wishes me to. I have games that are over 30 years old (I do pop out my Atari and Magnovox Odyssey every couple years for fun), do you honestly think that I will get to play this Rez game in 5 years?

They also don't have any resale value whatsoever. Couple that with my preference for a tangible product and it's a little expensive. For me, digital downloads are for games I basically can't get otherwise

THAT is your excuse for not paying for it? It's $10 man, not $60. I just played the demo and it was fun but I don't want to buy it just because I don't think it's worth it. It wouldn't be worth their time to make a hard copy version. Are you saying you'd buy a $10 download for $20 if it were on a disc?

Yeah. It's a personal thing, I'd prefer to have it on a tangible media. I would actually rather pay $20 for it on a disc than $10 for a digital copy. That way I can be assured I can play it anywhere anytime for as long as I want. I don't really like the restrictions of d'loading (can only play it on my account on a 360; can't even take it to a bud's or let them borrow it).

BTW, I rarely pay more than $30-40 for any game unless it's a brand new one I want NOW. Usually it's $20-30 for me.

Now, if I had a portable drive that I could store it on with no account restrictions it would be a different matter

Odd, I didn't see your score on my friends list.

Oh, BTW, we need to talk about your gamer score for a minute. A five-digit score is unacceptable. You need to get out more often. It's a perfectly sunshine day outside, and you're in your dark little dungeon playing those video games.

it was -53 celsius with the wind chill on tuesday. Getting out is becoming less and less of an option.

Haha a coworker of mine who lives up in Canada couldn't get to work last week cause he didn't have an engine heater and the diesel in his car had congealed.

Diesels love this weather.

Canada, the only place where you can regularly have a 20+ degree swing...in one day

I also bought it!

I have a sneaking suspicion I own the original DC version, but if I do it's buried under a metric ton of old comics and games at my folks' place. Regardless, I never played it much; I think I wanted to approach it strictly as a game, and as a game it sort of sucks. I remember thinking at the time that it wasn't much more than a fancy screensaver, even though it did have a track on it by my man Ken Ishii (I could have sworn it was credited to Flare, one of his pseudonyms, in the original version, though!).

As a wise old man now, though, I can appreciate it as really beautiful art, which it most definitely is. It's gorgeous, hypnotic, and incredibly good value at less than $20 Australian. (I usually share your predilection for physical media, Zeus, but $20 is a sweet price.)

No doubt it would benefit from being played under the influence.

Meh, I wouldn't say it "sucks". After all, the bosses are really inventive, and so are a lot of the enemies. It's also really gratifying to be able to tie your enemies together into one 8-string burst, without being clueless about whether it worked or not. (IE: Know your enemies # of hits.)

I really like the ROCK IS SPONGE and Adam Freeland's Fear tracks. I just wish there was more content in the HD version, but I guess I should be wishing for a sequel.
