There hasn't been anything to suggest Spore is vaporware... why would you put it ahead of Duke Nukeum which probably will never be released in our lifetime?

Spore is likely for August or something but it's Will Wright, DNF is a tease from 3D Realms now, they're not really working on it, and Microsoft is spending a lot of time marketing Too Human now.
So I say Too Human and likely by June

Haha that's your whole basis for saying so? Because 1 art director said the word "polishing" during an interview?? That's pretty fucking weak man...

I could give a fuck which of them comes out first, because I'm not going to play either. That's just my guess.

Spore was announced for DS years ago. The art looks sort of like a cross between Animal Crossing WW and Lego. The game is redesigned for DS. If focusses on the creature phase of the game with the other areas redesigned with that focus in mind. The online works a bit differently, it works much the same as the PC/Mac games, but through players that are connected to directly or by wifi. It should turn out quite good.
It is also in development for Wii, but I do think that is due out a bit later.

I don't understand why they bother with this song and dance. Everybody is going to be so hyped for it, that it's not going to live up to it when it finally comes out.

Hyped? Not anymore. It's been so long now it's just become a running joke in the industry. The number of people who care has dropped dramatically and will continue to decrease

EDIT - the article says that it's coming out August 19th (and of this year too!). I guess I get bonus points for actually reading the article that I link to.

I don't know what type of game Too Human is...but I gotta admit, I really liked the demo (the more I played, the better it was).
I think I'll pick it up...if the gameplay doesn't get repetative and the 'crafting' like features (that were locked out in the demo) are well implimented, it'll be a pretty snazzy game.
It's like Diablo, for consoles. At least, that's what it felt like to me.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it. Man, the art direction is terrible, though!

I just played the Too Human demo last night-- pretty good shit. Reminds me more of KOTOR/Mass Effect except with more emphasis on action than RPG.
I'm hesitant but I think I'll pick it up too... I may be obligated to, having named my cats after norse gods and all
