I got in the crazy japanese way. I'm downloading the patch for the game right now.

yeah, that's how I downloaded the beta, I was then able to make a North American "Game ID" so I can login. I also have a japanese ID, but neither of them are working. I'm hearing news crop up of other people just not able to connect. Possibly due to high server load I'd image.

Well if you are using a japanese konami ID on a Canadian PS3 you aren't going to be able to connect. (Lots of people on Kotaku tried and have Epic Failed).

If it is still happening with your other ID then that could be load based.

This game is fucking hard!

No, Konami took a tactical shooter and added MGS portions to it. It is very difficult to aim. Learning curve on orientation takes awhile. Guns don't fire as accurately as they probably should. Lots of random hits. CQC (close quarters combat) is a cheap. Not sure how to use the skills or how to level up (thought I'm told the functionality is there).

Headset usage is a pain in the ass, took me most of the day to figure out that you have to hit select while in the lobby to enable voice chat.

alright, I'm officially in now. sony emailed me a north american code, so I can actually play it. Sadly, GTA is out now... so I'm going to have to find a way to properly divide my time.
