If you remember the "Mad World" Gears of War trailer from a couple years back you'll love this... I'm getting my copy tomorrow ;)

tell me how it is. I played the beta and the demo..... and it was kinda fun, but I'd like to hear how the full game is.

Shit, that was funny. I hope they have actual interactions like that in the game--if my shooty action has to get interrupted, let it be interrupted with comedy.

One (semi) complaint IGN had was that the campaign is too lighthearted. There's no mistaking you're in the heart of a fierce battle... and your buddies are cracking jokes half the time. "Hey, that was my kill!". I'll have to see how it plays out over time.

I played the SP demo and at first the banter totally caught me off guard in the respect that I thought I could play the game like a comedy (much more health, do crazy shit) but no-- you die quickly like that. Apparently the death system in the campaign is horribly forgiving... you basically get thrown back to a checkpoint but everything you killed up until death is still dead so there's nothing stopping you from running into a slew of guys, taking out 2 of them, dying, and repeating that till they're all dead.

Still, the SP campaign looks like a lot of fun, and of course the multiplayer is the place it'll shine.

Spent the night playing Bad Company and I'll say it is a solid game. I forget the whole time that this is supposed to be a Battlefield game; it's a pretty large departure from the franchise.

Single player campaign is pretty fun-- decent story, fun banter, varied objective and it's pretty long so far (took me about 2 hours to do the first 2 levels). Dying is pretty lame (in that there's almost no penalty for it) but aside from that it's a blast. They even have "collectibles" to find throughout each map, which some might like but I find it slows things down; this is an FPS damnit!

Multiplayer is kind of a mix between old Battlefield games and CoD4's ranking system. One thing I've found I don't like too much is that the God Rush game type they touted is the ONLY game type to play. No deathmatch, no capture the flag, only gold rush. It's a pretty fun game type, but sometimes it gets repetitive and I'd love to have something to break the monotony.

Other than that this is a pretty nice game. Not a candidate for game of the year-- but definitely worth the $$.

The TFF version is garbage.

So far I haven't seen much of a migration from CoD4 to BF. I'd like to give it a shot but at long as 9/10 people on my friends list are still playing CoD, I'll stick with that.
