It'd have to have system link. It won't have split-screen.

True. That kinda sucks...I sort of feel like just about all the major game companies EXCEPT Nintendo assume their players don't want to play local games. Splitscreen was great! Why'd we ever do away with it?

Yeah, kind of weird that it has online but not offline Co-op mode. You would think that it would be easier to do, and offline co-op mode is one of the most fun features a game can have.

I can see implemetning offline co-op having real difficulties. Not technical, but design; you have to make sure that your interface and levels still work when the player has less vertical space than horizontal space.

Yeah, it's like playing GoW offline co-op. It works, but heck if it isn't distracting and harder. I much prefer having my fullscreen to tear up some locusts.

Split-screen sucks and it has always been a terrible compromise.

I still prefer it to online co-op which isn't nearly as fun. Of course, most of the co-op games that I do play don't use full screen, they have both the players on the screen at the same time.

'cause he won't pay for Live to play it online, I assume.

It's an acquired taste for sure, but I now far prefer playing games designed to take advantage of a full screen (Halo, say) online with my friends, rather than at their place and sharing a screen. Local play for multiplayer games designed to be played on one screen (a fighting game or Bomberman) is still the greatest thing ever though.

Let's hope I have a PS3 by then and there's nothing extra announced for the 360 version that'll change my decision

An aside:

More M$ Gold membership bitching - not only did the fuckers make me wait 'til July 8 to get my Canada Day theme, they're taking away the Gears 2 one release yesterday 'til next week. It's promotion for the game you dumb fucks, you should want as many people as possible to have it. Not to mention you can't use Netflix unless you have a Gold Membership. Wow, they're just going to far with this to the point of being petty and hurting the advertising of the games they need to promote.

I can't wait for Home to come out. I hope to hell it slaughters Live

Home? I think you're mistaken. There is no such thing as Home nor will there ever be any such thing as Home...well, at least the way Sony is handling it. :)

I hope that it is at least decent. However, a second life styled online lobby is hardly something that is going to topple the streamlined, robust features of live. I hope home is cool, but I don't think it will do anything that anyone really wants.... unless you really want to show people your virtual room with your virtual trophies in it and watch movies together...... virtually.

Sounds like something Electronic Arts developed a decade ago. Though, maybe according to Zeus that wasn't popular enough to count.

Not like that they didn't
