A Tales game was just released for the system, the first game that is really interesting to the Japanese released on the system.

When you allot 3 systems per week to the country and release a game that 6 people want, you get a bit of a backlog

That's not completely true. There was Eternal Sonata, Katamari, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Phantasy Star Universe, Enchanted Arms, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom.

Also, Infinite Undiscovery is coming Sept 1.

Blue Dragon caused them to sell something like 150k units in a month if I'm not mistaken.

That's the issue with the 360 over there. They care about 2 or 3 games a year, max. It sells great for that first week then it DIES

I don't think the interest was high surrounding any of those games. A lot of those games you mentioned (like Katamari) are actually more directed at North American fans of Japanese games rather than the Japanese themselves.

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon for sure caused a huge surge in sales over there. There was even a Blue Dragon bundle with a special face-plate and stuff. PSU was actually on the PS2 as well so I don't think it affected them much. Trusty Bell, which was our Eternal Sonata if I'm not mistaken, did OK and Katamari was slow in sales all over the world. Kingdom Under Fire wasn't even released there if I'm not mistaken, that's a US-developed title, no?

Yeah, which is a fuck-lot more than the usual 2 to 5k they sell in a week. You can imagine they don't bother diverting too much supply to Japan

For most of the last 12 months it was around 1K, sales started going up in the past month or so.
