I'm there! Maybe we can finally organize the Shrine meet-up after over a decade. We've got two years to plan it.

I'll be there for certain. Boston is close to where I live.

It's about 10 hrs for me, but I'll try to make it

15 hours for us

I could probably take a train up there in about 8-10 hours I think. Driving in Massachusetts/Boston sounds about as fun as getting my arm amputated off with a dull spoon

Boston is about 6 hours from me. Not too bad. It's a pretty easy drive.

I have heard bad things about the traffic in Boston. Worse than Chicago and LA, which is really damn hard to beat.

I'm going in a couple of weeks, I'll let you guys know
People said horrid things about the traffic in New York but it wasn't much worse than Toronto. If anything, it was actually better since they have a public transportation system that they can be proud of. We were going into Manhattan on a Friday afternoon at around 5:30pm and it wasn't too bad

Try crossing the George Washington Bridge just about anytime. It's a goddman free-for-all. I go 20 miles out of my way now to use a bridge further North.

I'll make a point of avoiding it

Ha, an expensive plane ride. I make minimum wage...if I'm flying somewhere, it'll be somewhere a tad more worthwhile. I left the Massachusetts area for a reason.

It's in two years, Rent. If you saved every dollar you're going to spend on cigarettes in that time you could fly anywhere in the world. Twice.

Sounds like a 2 for 1 plan to me! Stop smoking AND save money for the ticket!

Fuck, after 2 years he'd have enough money saved to get US all to PAX too, with floor tickets prepaid!

I tried this with a bud of mine. "Stop smoking and if you take that money and save it, you can retire x years earlier" or "stop smoking and you can get yourself a wide-screen TV in less than a year paid for". It don't work.

the tickets for PAX aren't bad if you purchase them in advance (something like $45 for the whole three days when I went last year). Have any of you guys gone? I'd never been to anything like it.... being from Regina, Saskatchewan and all... and I had a great time.

I've never been to anything like it, and would LOVE to go. It's just the distance that would stop me and Sine from going.

I'm hoping next winter to do a pure sports trip for 4 or 5 days. My kids will be about a year old so the wife should let me out of the cage by then :-)
With the Jets, Giants, Nets, Knicks, Devils, Islanders, and Rangers all right beside each other, it's not inconceivable to actually go to about 4 or 5 sports games in a 4 day span. That would be fun as fuck
