Well I was slightly concerned from the reviews I saw yesterday about this game... but it's still an awesome game.

Played through the first few hours of the game, it's a very entertaining game that can get rather frustrating. Basically the IGN review is pretty spot on-- there are a few things that keep this game from being amazing, like the camera can sometimes be annoying (but it is WAY better than Too Human's camera), the targetting is rather shitty, and there are WAY too many loading screens, but it's a great story with some fun game mechanics that is definitely worth a play through if you enjoy Star Wars.

There's just nothing like throwing a wookie through the air off a cliff, or performing some of those combos that just look kick ass. The scenery is fantastic, the physics engine is pretty sweet, I just wish sometimes it was a bit more clear as to what I had to do. The only times I've gotten real frustrated so far in the end were because I was going about doing something wrong.

Inclined to agree, if you like Star Wars you'll enjoy playing through this game. It gives you the better parts of the Star Wars fanservice, without the whine. :)

God it's so refreshing to not have to worry about being good or evil and just KILL EVERYTHING, woo!

I found the combat in the demo pretty boring so I think I'll just watch the cutscenes on Youtube. Apparently the game has a great ending. Can;t remember who it was, but somebody on one of the 1up Podcasts said it had the best ending of any Star Wars game.

I'm enjoying it so far. I've already encountered 2-3 glitches in the TIE Fighter factory alone. That makes me wonder how the heck this game got through testing without this stuff being found cuz I didn't do anything weird to find them. One was on the first elevator, I walked in and jumped and fell right through the floor. Another was in the fight against Kato at the end. At one point he went to do his thing where he throws force balls at you and he just stood there frozen in a force field. I couldn't hurt him and he wouldn't move. So I had to restart the fight.

Overall, it's a lot of fun though. The story is looking to be pretty sweet and the combat gives you enough different combos to keep it refreshing.

I haven't hit any bugs like that... during the Kato fight though once he was trying to run to the center of the room and got stuck in front of a piece of debris and just stood there running until I smacked him out of the way. Only thing I noticed in the TIE factory was that randomly during the beginning I got the notice that I had destroyed 10/10 TIE Fighters for the bonus... but I didn't touch them.

One thing I also don't like is the saving... there are checkpoints AND you can save... but they're basically the same thing. If you die or reload a game you WILL start at the last checkpoint, regardless of where you last saved. Saving manually only saves all your stats/points. Took me a bit to figure that one out... not sure if I had understood that from the start if I'd like it more or not. I guess it's alright, just shoulda been explained.

I think I just assumed that was how the saving/checkpoints worked. But that's a good point about the stats. I need to make sure I save before I stop playing even if I didn't get too far past a checkpoint.

I'm hoping not to find any more huge bugs like that. The elevator one I can accept and move on. The freezing character one is unforgiveable if it forces me to replay a tough battle.

That's weird about the TIE Fighter bonus...at least that one worked for you. haha

Here's a new one... Junkyard Boss hit me so hard I flew over the wall he was protecting and clipped through the floor. Just fell forever

EDIT-- It took me nearly 30 minutes to beat the jedi in the junkyard... and it wasn't until I read tips on Gamefaqs forum how to do so. The guy is so ridiculously hard at times it's sick that the ONLY way I could beat him way to use a semi-cheap trick. Oh and I LOVED getting killed by flying debri with a full bar of health. Pissed me off SO MUCH, but once I beat it it was so damned rewarding.

I didn't cheat... I just had to find out his ONE weakness and how best to exploit it. I was QUITE tempted and almost entered the invulnerability cheat... but figured that'd fuck up the rest of my game and I'd miss out on achievements.

I just beat the next jedi boss and she was MUCH easier to kill than this above mentioned one. By "MUCH easier" I mean I was able to defeat her in maybe 10 minutes, all without getting super frustrated, haha. I don't know what everyone bitches about the boss battles, they are all varied and challenging IMO. I love that I have to actually THINK during the battle and it's not just something I can easily blow through.

Beat the game (on hard) last night... and DAMN what an excellent ending.

Really enjoyable game IMO, if they just fixed a few of the REALLY FRUSTRATING parts of the game it'd be amazing. I don't know what people were complaining about either with the length of the game, I thought it was decent length and there's little side things like the training room to do as well.

Cinematics were amazing... nothing like using the Force to pull a fucking star destroyer into a planet. If you're a Star Wars fan you need to pick this up, if you're a glutton for punishing games pick this up ;)

This one really seems to be a love it or hate it type game. I've heard it both ways. Personally, I found the demo to be OK but nothing to write home about. But comments I hear from people who have played it are quite polarized

I've decided that it is a great game, but it's not one that I'd personally have played if it weren't Star Wars. There are enough little issues and glitches that add up to become really annoying, but the story and Force powers are so much fun. It's definitely worth a play through at least once.

You experience it both ways throughout the game. There were some battles/areas I was cursing the game up and down for being an unfair unforgiving cheapass sonuvabitch, and others were I was having a huge blast with it. Luckily in most cases I got much satisfaction out of finally beating those really hard areas too. Some people have bitched about glitches, but I really only encountered a few, only one being one I had to restart the game for. A few times I'd have enemies just disappear, that's about the only thing that happened even somewhat consistently.
