Anyone else plan on getting this? I was on the fence, but then I saw this video
http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/7413 ... sEvil.html and decided that any game that lets you kick puppies is a game I need to own.
I never played the first one, but I really enjoy Action RPGs so I'm looking forward to it.

I'm still on the fence and I've already paid for LBP and Fallout 3. For me, one of the selling points of Fable 2 was the co-op. Apparently it won't be implemented until a week or so after the release date... so I'm not in any big hurry to get it. Who knows, I might crack.

I can't wait to do Co-op... but I'm hearing mixed things as to whether it'll be in release or not.

It isn't. Moleneuyx (sp?) has said it should be out about a week after.

I might, if I can get any time on the 360 between sine playing Fallout 3.

It got a 9 in Edge! I'm getting it. The thread at NeoGAF is pretty hilarious. "I'm fat, covered in sores, and my wife gave me an STD! Help!"

Well you'll have a week head start... then you just need to pay the Gamestop guy to "lose" his pre-order and be out of copies and you'll have bought some more time. At that point though you may want to just get another f'ing Xbox since Sine doesn't seem to like to share

Moleneuyx also says a lot of things, like how you can buy nuclear missiles in the game, then like ride them through the dungeon - maybe pick up Elvis along the way. Then kinda have him kidnapped by aliens from Fruloz, but you catch up to them, and feel bored and so you hack up Elvis with your chainsaw. Then you see another player, so you can, like shoot your friends, and throw pieces of Elvis at him. Then the nuclear missile hits something and blows up and you see these cool graphics and then you get to play again.
Not exactly in those words, of course, but the man is clearly insane.

Lionhead has already stated that there will be a patch on day 1 to make the online co-op work. I hope they do 'cause it could be pretty neat

Isn't it coming out tomorrow?
I may be up for some online co-op in a couple of weeks or maybe even this weekend if you'd like. I was gonna wait 'til Gears 2 came out before I used some of the 1-month cards I have but I wouldn't mind getting some co-op Fable 2 in if it's any good.

Yeah, that would make sense. I haven't heard of any but some stores could have some if they've had a huge number of pre-orders.
It's either that or a smaller store is just breaking the street date.

Good
Combat
Dog
The fact that you can swim really fast
Voice acting
Funny
Bad
Menus
Loading
Menus
Loading
Having to make the same gesture over and over again to gain somebody's favor
Co-op needs fixing
I have yet to buy any real estate or get married or shag anybody. That stuff's probably fun too. Great so far!

I don't have a huge problem with the menu. Loading times are pretty bad.
My problem is I get lost all the time! I guess I'm too used to MMOs where I get a map of where everything is. I spent a LOT of time in Oakenfield looking for the damn Abbey... my little glowy trail was no where to be found!
The co-op took me by surprise. So I get home, pop the game in and I'm in kid mode doing all those little jobs. All of a sudden I hear Chris yelling at me through my TV. It surprised the hell out of me! I put on the headset and say.. "Chris?? Is that you? How are you talking to me if I didn't accept anything?"
So apparently if you are near where one of your Friends are physically in the game, you can just talk and they can hear you. And because I was in Kid mode, I didn't see his floating Avatar.
I'm enjoying the game..I wish co-op was a little better though.

Seraph, did you turn on the "golden crumbs" trail? Apparently it works pretty well to show you were you're supposed to be going next
PostPosted:Wed Oct 22, 2008 9:51 am

Yep, and it worked most of the time for the quests except the Abbey one..and it took me forever to find the place.

I really enjoyed it so far... loading screens suck, the menu isn't that bad. The golden trail I've found does sometimes disappear for a bit... but just running around a little had it come back for me. It is also the first RPG I've played I think that's 100% voice and doesn't use text for commoners and such. Jobs are cool and all slightly different, but god damn is it repetitive. Can't wait until I just own all of the town so I don't have to work.
I bought my first property early-- Manure Manor! Hahaha. What I think is cheap is if you have a friend playing a henchmen they get a cut of the rent too every 15 minutes; it's MY property damnit! There's also apparently a big bug with renting... since it gives you rent even when you're not in game someone's already found that you can just set your Xbox a few hundred years into the future, and when you play the game you're stinking rich. Change the time back and you still have the money.
Coop is cool and uniquely done, but the camera SUCKS in co-op mode. They need to disconnect the cameras and give each player their own; trying to squish us both into the picture makes it very difficult. Especially if you're like one of my friends who apparently has ADD and can't sit still during conversations so they run in circles and cause the camera to keep moving around...

Here's a few questions:
1) How do you have a kid? Or rather how do you have sex? I had it once at marriage and now I can't figure out how to have sex with my wife again
2) Where the HELL is the Bookstore? I keep seeing tips during loading about visiting the bookstore in the Market, but I can't find any bookstore in the market!
EDIT-- Nevermind... how sad is it that I lived NEXT DOOR to the bookstore and didn't even notice?

Anyone else noticing some weird glitches?
1) My kid is stuck. He's facing a wall outside my house... won't move, I can't get him to follow me or react to anything. Has been that way for days now.
2) My wife showed up in a town she isn't supposed to be in... 370 miles away. How the hell did that happen? It took me hours and a portal to get to this place and she just comes waltzing out of a bar like she's supposed to be there??
Also, anyone else sometimes hear what sounds like a leprechaun mocking you when you're out in the woods? I've heard him a few times, and both Shellie and I did at one point when we were in co-op. Never can find the bugger, but who the hell IS he?

1) Your kid is autistic. Must be bad genes. Sell him into slavery.
2. Uhh...
3: It's a gargoyle head and there are 50 of them scattered around Albion. When you hear it, look around (and up). They're usually high up on stone walls or pillars. Shoot it with your ranged weapon. For every ten you shoot, you're rewarded with something from the Gargoyle Trove(?) which can be found in a diving spot in Bowerstone's river.

1) Your kid got caught by the Blair Witch
2) Your wife is a fucking whore and you caught her red handed... do something about that shit.
3) My first suspect about the wife would be this guy.

Gargoyles? seriously? Why the hell do they appear to have Scottish-ish accents?? So there are 50 gargs and 50 silver keys...
You telling me I gotta go back out to that creepy bog and find these now? Lovely...
And I'm the first one to find weird glitches like that (#1 and #2)? I also have a woman I KILLED follows me around the market square. One mission early on you talk to a ghost who asks you to get revenge on his fiance who ditched him by having her fall in love with you then crush her like she did him. So, me being evil I did, and she killed herself and everything, but now her non-ghost body follows me around at times as a person I can't interact with, but still talks to me. She should be dead damnit!

One thing that really bugs me is when NPC's names get stuck on the top of the screen. I was in Bloodstone and I was trying to shoot a gargoyle head but since RACHEL THE FURNITURE LADY was still at the top of my screen, every time I pushed Y to take out my gun, I got her profile. I had to run half way across town to get it to go away! I pressed every goddamn button on the controller, as well as pausing and unpausing. GRRR!

So, how is evil in this game? The last Fable, it didn't seem like they really thought out how evil worked. I would go to a town and kill 100s of guards, and it would only take about 5 minutes before they would let me back in, and then I would still do the happy-go-lucky "good trumps all" main quests. It's like the main story had to go on, despite me being an evil guy.

I've just gotten to the first town after the caravan (got 3 women in the caravan who want to marry me already; that's pretty easy to do). The one thing I've noticed is how "poor" the graphics engine is. It's not that the game looks bad it just chunks up badly during simple stuff and cheats a lot. I was swimming to the first test temple (where you get your magic and Halo armour) and it was choking on the swimming 'cause my dog was on screen. And 'cause of that, the dog looked like it was floating there. Really weird. Game looks fine enough when it's still but man that engine needs to be beefed up.

You're crazy... I've VERY RARELY had noticable graphical issues, and not anything like you're talking about. Only in co-op have I ever noticed that the game had to catch up graphics wise, but otherwise I have yet to experience any problem with the graphics. I think they're Very well down and of good quality maps and designs, it's pretty impressive for an RPG of this size.

That button works as a toggle, the target lock button. I've always just had to tap it again and you're fine.

ENDING SPOILERS!!!!!
"Underwhelmed by the ending. I chose the "Love" option, telling me my family and dog would return to life. I assume this meant my sister as well, but when I returned for the quest "Your family" or whatever it was, it was just some guy blackmailing me for having two wives. Do you meet your sister again?

Ending spoilers as well...
I chose to bring back all the people who died during the building of the tower, so I didn't get my dog back. Am I fucked now? I want to complete the Archeologist's quest now, but when I get to the dig points, I can't dig. Can you get a new dog? Also underwhelmed by the ending. No last boss? WTF.

I want to start and Evil game but I'm getting Fallout tomorrow night and then LBP a day or two later. The games are sitting in a Blockbuster stock room not 100 yards from my house. What a goddamn tease.
That is, they still have a bunch of the Koranified versions of LBP that they aren't allowed to give me.

REPLAY as evil? Fuck, I've BEEN playing evil my first go around
It's actually not as easy as you'd think... I gotta go slaughter some villagers just to get some more evil rounded out.
I still hate it that everytime I visit my wife(s) and have sex with her/them I get good points... WHY IS THAT GOOD? Are evil men not allowed to have sex with a woman they knocked up twice?
At least when someone tried to blackmail me because I had two wives I just gutted him

Don't you have to have sex with unmarried women to be evil? Being married then having sex is the "right" way to do things. Better to bang a whore and get an STD if you wanna be evil :-)

I beat it... [spoilers]
I picked the Greed one. No doggy : ( but 1million gold! I'll at least use it to buy enough real estate to get that achievement. The ending wasn't exactly stellar... and I pushed Lucien over too soon apparently, I expected a fight. The lack of a big boss battle disappointed me, but otherwise I found it a solid fun game.
[/spoilers]
Has anyone tried to start a 2nd game yet?
