I was looking forward to this one. I'll likely still play it one day, hopefully there's a patch or something by then.

I had my bud in the industry tell me that Famitsu often reviews based on what its readers anticipate so as to not "insult" the readers. Makes sense considering some of their inconsistencies

Fuck them. They rig their own ratings, and are not a reliable source of reviews at all.

That's a friendly way of saying that they take corporate money and elevate their scores based on bribes.

Not really. It's based on the consumers not the publishers

Whatever. Square donates plenty of money to them for advertising. If they give them bad ratings, they might lose dollars. And yes, if they give a popular game bad ratings, they might lose customers (and thus, dollars).

In any case, it doesn't matter as it's just the same thing: sacrificing quality-of-work for the bottom line.

Of course, the Japanese always celebrate style over substance. Doesn't make it right.

I just bought this on the word of a game store employee I trust and am about to turn it on. I'm not clicking on that link, or listening to this thread. La la la la la. (fingers in ears)

A hard drive install on the 360 apparently helps the choppiness a lot.

it does. It's still choppy but I did find myself enjoying the game enough. It's not great but it's not a bad game

It is choppy. When it's not choppy, so far, it's EXTREMELY pretty. But I just barely got to the gameplay, so we'll see what's up.
