Also, any chance you want to play L4D tonight? I'm on my way out to buy it.
Yeah, that would make as much sense.

I'll try to hop on. If I do, maybe we can get a 4-player co-op going. If not, 2-player is still fine

poor Blotus... if you bought it for PC like everyone else you'd have the majority of this forum to play with ;) Don't even have to leave the house either, just download via Steam

and then you'd be able to play it with me! And there isn't a greater experience to have in life than playing a game with me.

This was way cheaper than upgrading my comp.

Yeah, even with having to pay to play online it's far cheaper

Yeah I have two friends at work that play on the X-Box and they complain non-stop about the matchmaking service... too bad because they'd be fun as hell to play with if they had PCs that could handle it.

At this point it couldn't be that expensive at all to hit the minimum requirements unless your motherboard is too old for a CPU upgrade (I know you can play the Crysis expansion with a, what, $650 rig? and that was months ago)... in that case yeah it's pricey - but I easily get away with 3 years without upgrading hardly anything. I'm on my second year with this set up and I'm not worrying about not hitting requirements this year... I could always buy a far better video card for cheap (~$90) and get a big performance upgrade. Probably going to wait until April for birthday money.

Well, Blotus and I had lots of fun going through the first campaign last night....after spending a good 25 minutes trying to get together online. That was fucking irritating

I'll try and catch ya sometime this weekend and maybe we can do the others. I love playing the scenarios so I don't mind doing them again. And when we get good enough we can find some others to try them on expert. I imagine that's gonna be VERY tough so we'll have to get better at playing better with each other.

Tessian and I with a couple other people tried No Mercy's last level on advanced with two other players and I'd say the other two were really good and Tess and I are pretty good too (more so Tess :P ) and it was really difficult once we called the Helicopter to pick us up. Tanks are very difficult on advanced... I can't even imagine how hard the game is going to be on expert. Maybe Dead Air where your entrenched position doesn't have any where you can get instant killed would be easier? *shrug*

Knowing a few things I know now it may not be AS difficult... we survived to the helicopter but then nobody could make it TO it. Think you just gotta get to the helipad sooner.

But yeah, advanced is much harder than normal...

Well, I still have a good AGP card, even if AGP technology isn't all that any more.

Are any AGP cards DX10 compatible? I mean, there aren't that many games that utilize it. I have two I think. Lord of the Rings Online and Bioshock.

Shin, in the No Mercy level, the best place to take on a Tank is actually in the steps of the bunker rather than on top by the gattling gun. You can funnel the entire horde in there and take them out pretty easily but you can also use it to dodge the Tank pretty well.

On top of the gattling gun is the highest point of the building. You're just asking for getting knocked off there.

Exactly. Both gattling guns in that scenario are traps. You touch the one in the factory while you're waiting for the door to open and they come POURING in up from the floor behind you. The best place to go there is actually back to the steps where you came into that room.

In general, you gotta funnel as much as humanly possible in the scripted horde scenarios and the endings. Stairwells are always the best. Even in the boathouse escape you can funnel them up the steps and have one or two guys watch the 4 entrances on top. It's not possible in some to do in some scenarios so you have to improvise. Like the airplane one where that overpass not too far from the gattling gun. You can funnel the horde up the steps and the destroyed airplane gives you an escape route. The only thing you have to do is watch out for the Tank who'll break up and climb up the "wall" beside you.

I know what you're saying, yeah that sounds like a good idea. I never use the gatling gun though.

In dead air I generally like getting on top of the gas truck and covering my teammates using the gatling gun/on the ground positions... the tank never makes it up to the gas truck either so it's good way to almost never take damage - especially since it's such a small space to protect with the melee weapon attack. I don't think the AI special zombies have ever attacked me when I'm on top of that thing... They're probably set to go for the gatling gun person

Yeah, the gattling gun in Dead Air actually isn't bad. I usually take that and let my friends cover me on the sides. It makes short work of tanks if they end up in the fire.

I have a 3rd myself but I can't play tonight. I've got a conference in Markham tomorrow morning so I'm heading out to my uncle's tonight as I ain't gonna fight morning traffic across the entire freakin' city.

What about Wednesday?
