Maybe I just wasn't playing it right, but the first Mass Effect wasn't all that fun. It was like KOTOR but with slightly more boring gameplay (Though I did pick the Soldier class) and no Star Wars. I really dug the politics, but GEEZ! Everyone...just...won't shut up. EVER.

I enjoyed Mass Effect, but they'll need to improve on the gameplay a bit to get me to go for a 2nd one. I did love the story though, so we'll see.

I'm pretty sure the original was my favourite game on the 360. The only thing I would drastically change is all those planets where you just drive around. That was pretty boring. I really liked all the characters, the story, the music (well, most of it... some of it was just awful), and I really can't wait for the second one.

that's better. some actual substance makes a point a lot better than ugh. ugh is for children....which I guess in your case makes sense. an actual point is respectable.

Can I really roleplay this time around or am I going to have to be the good guy even if I kill people for profit?

Heh, my point exactly. You can either play as a good guy/gal that saves the world, or as somebody that saves the world and acts like a jerk about it.
I think Fallout is the only series that ever gets that good/evil thing right. If you play your cards right, you can REALLY be an truly evil fucking asshole. Just look at the
Fallout 2 evil guide as an example.
