This looks like a very pretty game and I hope it plays as well as it should. Would be great for platforming fans. The original was a fun game

The original was haaaa-aard. I do own it and did eventually beat it, but its one heck of an adventure.

Damn, you beat it? I never did. It was merciless. When I sat down to play it, I had to be okay with the fact I was going to fail, and it was going to be frustrating.

Yeah, I never beat it either due to its insane difficulty. But this one looks to be a bit more forgiving (they're aiming for 8 to 80 after all) so let's hope.
It looks awesome though, doesn't it?

I thought the exploit endings to it on tasvideos were kinda funny. They beat it in less than two minutes.
I've played and beat the game before, but I was using a FAQ half the time. Still a fun game, though.

Yeah man, the original game was glorious.
They don't make games that challenging anymore, mostly because our expectations that we ought to be able to beat a game within a month or so have been so thoroughly managed by the industry at this point.
I actually got the spaceship transformation jellybean and made it all the way to Blobonia or whatever it was, but I think I hadn't stockpiled enough armaments (and by "armaments" I mean "jellybeans") to successfully transform the Blob into the five million things you needed to survive that level.
