50% off certain games for 24 hours. Today it's Assassin's creed (some sort of director's cut or something) for ten american dollars. If you haven't played this game already, I recommend you pick it up for that price. Different games on sale throughout the week. I wonder what is going to be the special deal tomorrow?

I think the Director's Cut is just a reference to the fact that it has a tad more content than the original console version. And as far as I know the only things they added were four new investigation types. Wahoo.
On the bright side, while I have played through the game four times, I never had the chance to actually buy it... so for $10 I can feel like less of a jerk.

FOUR times? Wtf is there to play this game through that many times? I enjoyed playing it thoroughly, but not enough to go back a 2nd, much less a 4th time.

I pretty much loved everything about the game. I played one time through on easy, one on normal, and twice on hard. Playing an unstoppable bad ass assassin is kind of fun

I picked it up on steam. A friend of mine recommended it for the PS3.

I'm a fan of anything that has a "win at game" button.

it's a fair game, certainly worth the $25 price point. I just wish they'll have a game I don't have on sale

it's sort of just a constant quicktime event. Pressing buttons to not fall to your death. It LOOKS really good, it's just not particularly satisfying after seeing the prince do tons of crazy, cool shit and realizing you just hit A, then B and then A again to make it happen. Also, the dialogue is half charming and half retarded. I liked the prince and liked the lady, but together they were just awful.

Surely there's a picture with someone just sitting there since you don't have to press anything to not die?

Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is the deal for today. It's $15 and I'm seriously considering it. Anyone else going to pick it up? I played the first one, and it was competent, but I would have preferred to play it on the PC and not the xbox.

I read the PC Gamer review when it came out and it sounded interesting. For $15 I reckon I'll pick it up.

Not worth it for me... looks like a CoD clone. I don't need to pick up every game in this damned sale just because it's 50% off

I decided to test out Hell's Highway for a couple hours tonight so see how I liked the single player... it ended up being over four. I'm enjoying the campaign. I just wish I could choose to keep my German rifle over the Allies rifle at the beginning of each chapter... I prefer the power over the semi-auto.

Farcry 2 is the one today. BUY THIS GAME.
I'm going to buy it on PC for the improved controls (over my 360 copy). I had an illegitimate pc copy, but this $15 price point is impossible to pass up. It's a great game. The story is weak, but the gameplay is amazing. You can choose to do missions however you want to.
There are certainly annoying aspects to the gameworld (checkpoints with guards that constantly respawn everytime you visit them and they shoot at you and make your life miserable because you always have to drive a zillion miles to your mission), but the freedom the game gives you is unparallelled in FPS games outside of STALKER.
It took me a while to warm up to the game, but when I was able to sneak around an enemy camp at night, killing them off one by one, and there was a lone man left, hiding in a building and I could hear him yelling about how there was no mere man coming for him, but a demon.... I really just fell in love with the game.
Bovine recommends.

The game didn't exactly interest me all that much... but I can't really say no to $15. I mean worst case I save it for a rainy day (aside from today). Plus I can't help but support these 50% sales because you KNOW they're being watched closely and their success will be used as an excuse to have more in the future... or perhaps drop game prices in general.

Yeah, played another five hours today. Longer than I thought it would be. I've enjoyed all the missions except for two where there's fire everywhere and it makes it hard as hell to see - and of course you have to assault all these fixed German positions. And then the conclusion... You single-handedly have to take out three tanks. You get cover fire but the units given to you are only good for cover fire. I had to run up to three goddamned tanks, plant a satchel and hope like hell there weren't any reinforcements/Germans I forgot as I ran away.
I'm going to pass on nabbing FarCry2... It's the exact kind of game that I'm horrible at. If I'm going to play a FPS I need some kind of cover system or at least an AI that isn't going to snipe me with shotguns. And even if that's only happening because I suck - enemy positions should not respawn as fast as they do. So, yeah, pass. I don't need to clear an area again 15 minutes after I did it the first time.

Farcry, Beyond Good and Evil, Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, and IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 all for $10. If you were looking for a deal, here it is.
If this is all a test to see if, in fact, consumers will buy more games if they are cheaper, then I certainly hope we're all buying these games because if deals like this were the standard prices..... I would own everything.

Yeah, BG&E is worth playing, especially for $10.
