The video is trying to match the sound of mario stomping on enemies to the notes of the song. Some of it is better than others. I recognize about 10 out of the 40 BGMs. There's a list of what's used but most of it is in Japanese of course.
The videoes themselves almost look like what should happen in a Sonic the Hedgehog game.
