South Park Let's Play Tower Defense

Anyone else check out the demo on XBL? I love tower defense games but this one's a bit difficult for one person. The main differences are you have the 4 boys playable during the game, you move them around to build/upgrade turrets, attack, and use special abilities. You have to run around and pick up coins as they randomly drop off bad guys too. It's up to 4 person co-op (live or local), and I found it becoming a bit overwhelming with only myself trying to coordinate all of this at once... you really do need at least one person helping. All the South Park voices are there, there's an actual story kinda, and cheesy one liners as expected.
It's 800 points, but I'm not paying $10 for it unless someone else gets hooked on it, heh.

You all SUCK. Paying money for any tower defense that isn't a WC3 mod is biting from the gods and also a day late. I bought FF Crystal Defenders and immediately realized what a cash-in a lot of those tower-d games are. Obviously Crystal Defenders is a bit more of a quick flip and turnaround than some, but seriously omg. Just buy WC3. Stop wasting money on games that are pale imitations of the best mods.

Well, FF:CD isn't a great tower defense game. However, Defense Grid: The Awaking is an awesome one, and so is Plants vs. Zombies. So, don't base your opinion off of one bad example.
It seems to be the new trend in small games, but since I like strategy, I'm fine with all of the different TD games out there.

I agree with Sine. TD is a great pick up and play genre for people who like a little strategy in their casual games.
PixelJunk Monsters on the PSN feels more like a real game than any TD game i've played and is well polished in graphics, music, and gameplay. The only thing i would change about it is i wish i had more time inbetween waves to think and place my towers, then allow the wave to start. As it is, the waves just keep coming and you are running all over the place to build one more tower or upgrade the one alllll the way on the other side of the map... gets kinda frantic on the harder maps.

I downloaded the demo but haven't played it yet. With Demon's Souls arriving any day now (fuck you Amazon.ca, I could have had the game two days ago) and Pixeljunk Monsters PSP on the go, I may not get around to playing South Park anytime soon.
Firefight Sunday, ya???

I think the Nazis' historical response to the Maginot line ruined tower defense for me before it even started. Of course, maybe the French just sucked at tower defense.

All of a sudden I have a desire to play WC3 again and only make heroes and Ancient Protectors. It would make the game so much simpler. I bet if you get good at tower d you can win like that too.

A Go. Yes, yes, Zeus, I'm an idiot, I'll spare you the trouble of saying it. With trade-ins of RE5 (40), Fallout 3 (40), Rock Band, SC4, and my broken PSP Slim (that they didn't check to see that it was broken - 60) it only cost about $75. They were also giving an extra $3 credit on each game so that was pretty sweet too.
So far I really like it. I'll post some more impressions later if I feel up to it. But Demon's Souls just arrived at my door so...

EB really are full of a bunch of morons.....
I ain't sayin' nothin', it's already been said (holy shit, a double negative in 3 words; Kup must be pumping that iron extra hard in anger :-). But I do want to discuss this with you again in December or January to see what your long-term impressions are like. I'm actually curious not looking to point a finger and say "I told you so".

stop changing the subject. The thread is obviously called "firefight on Sunday", so can we please all fortify that we are ignoring our Canadian families and playing firefight?

Why do we have to wait until Sunday? Surely none of you malcontents have anywhere to be tonight, right?

I am under the impression that I have some plans for tonight, but if those fall apart then I will be in there like swim wear.

I'm playing Demon's Souls tonight!
And it may have to be a later Sunday (for me anyway). It's the day before thanksgiving and I'm cooking dinner for the wife/parents.

Sorry dudes, late Thanksgiving dinner plus time with wife = no firefight tonight.
