After my "new" 360 broke down, I decided to finally make the switch for all of my cross-platform games from the 360 to the PS3. That is, aside from the heavy multi-player titles between now and May when my Live runs out, since I know FAR more people who have Live than a PS3. My 360 will slowly become an exclusives-only machine like the Wii and now that I've figured out how to get TVersity working great on the PS3, it will hardly get used anymore aside from a few select titles a year. I just pre-ordered Bioshock 2 for the 360 but I'll likely transfer that to the PS3 once the Limited Edition is in EB's system.
I really didn't want to, my 360 tries as hard as it can and has given me so much. But she suffers from a debilitating hereditary disease and it's only a matter of time before she slips into a coma and requires surgery. It's not if but when. I'm afraid if she slips into a coma too often, one of these times there will be no possibility of her coming back. Can't put too much pressure on her if I expect her to have a full, long life.
Joking aside, it's a bit sad I had to make a decision like that considering how much play time I got out of the 360. But I just can't trust the system anymore, even with the fully refurbished one I received back. Three strikes and they're out. I want to be able to play the system in 10 years like I do with my SNES and NES now. The only other systems that broke down regularly that I remember were the original NES and PSX but it wasn't nearly at the rate of the 360.
It truly is, from a pure lasting power point of view, the worst piece of hardware ever made.

I was there on that fateful day, were you?
