I've been playing a bit of this game, and I must say, it's fairly fantastic so far. It is kind of like a cross between Fire Emblem, Ogre Battle, and Phoenix Wright in terms of mechanics.

Essentially battles carry out like this:

* You have your team on a grid, and they navigate around the same way as Fire Emblem.
* Rather than each character being a separate entity, it is the leader of its own battle party - like Ogre Battle. If the leader dies, the party is done..
* Like both games, each battle lasts a limited number of turns based on various factors; so both parties can survive encounters. On the other hand, you control your party in battle, unlike the other two.
* The rest of the game is navigated in a similar way to Phoenix Wright, although the way things are examined is different, you can talk to your party members, talk to locals, or take part in an event; among other things.
* Time passes when various tasks are completed.

The game is a lot of fun so far. Since it is probably going to be rare, I recommend picking it up if you see it.

They did do an excelent job with the game but let me warn you in advance, the dificulty level ramps up pfairly high day to day, it gets to be a very hard game twords the later half. Its a good challenge that you dont often get from games today. I still remember back in the NES days when beating a game ment you had bragging rights, nowadays finishing a game is nothing special..

I figure it'll probably have something to do with Fusion to increase chances of success. I am only on day 2 and I am hitting battles where I am Losing 5+ monsters per battle. Although I don't think I have come close to losing a battle yet.

Right now I have my main lineups all with an Ogre and a Pixie each. The monsters I can currently see as being beneficial to have are beyond my ability to create (due to the main character's level). Although there are some elementals I can make. I am not sure if they're worth it.

The game does get difficult... But it is difficult because my goal is to protect a character on the other side of the map (Haru) and the Wedigos keep slowing my movement down. I have more than enough power to crush them with ease otherwise (my main demons are fairly powerful through Fusion and all 4 parties can take out any leader in a round) I'll need some more dollars to get demons with heal spells. Either that or just hide a guy in the back and destroy the Wendigos with my three other parties; then make a break for Haru with my healthy party; though there may not be enough time.
