It's actually delayed 'til March 15 for 360 and I think end of March for PS3.
Off to grab it now!

I'm enjoying it so far, only beaten one boss, though I did it with both characters. Sheep Man seems to be the starting point just gotta figure out where to go next.

Hope it bombs horribly so Capcom can stop this retro crap.

Hope it is a wild success, and they next do Street Fighter, so that Eric can get pissed off further =)
I don't know about Megaman, but retro Castlevania kicks ass.

There's nothing wrong with retro Castlevania's level design which is what I'm assuming you're talking about vs the metroid style sequels, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles on the PSP for example was alot of fun. But if a new Castlevania game came out looking like Castlevania 1 I'd be annoyed.
It's funny that you even mention Street Fighter, because Street Fighter IV is a perfect example of taking a lot of what made Street Fighter II great and innovating and creating a deeper fighter with a fun experience. Megaman 9/10 are basically just copies of Megaman 1-6, but it's cool because it's in 8 bit graphics, and you can die really easily via easy pitfalls and get hit all the time by stuff that immediately spawns off screen. Go go retro gaming.

Yeah, i just beat Rondo of Blood on the PSP Castlevania X Chronicles and really liked it. The beginning of Symphony of the Night makes so much more sense now, as does the whole Castlevania timeline. I hope they make a few more or release the others.
Whats best about Castlevania X Chronicles is that is includes a full version of SotN in it, too. The contrast between the RPG style of it and the classic level design of Rondo of Blood is extreme. Im not sure which one i like more.
The gaming world needs more 2D Castlevania, the time is right.

I have 3 bosses down now, went from sheep man to pump man to solar man. It looks like solar man's weapon works on chill man but he still managed to kill me. GOnna try again later.

Eric, you do realize that the Rondo remake on the PSP is not a Metroid-style game, right? And that there already was a new Castlevania game that came out lookin' like Castlevania 4, yes?
Mega Man 9 and 10 are copies of Mega Man 2 (you can't even slide or charge up your weapon).

If Capcom used Castlevania 3's tile/sprite sets, music, and gameplay style. I would be ecstatic =)
Street Fighter 2 The World Warrior vs Mortal Kombat 2 arcade graphics. MK gets fatalities, Street Fighter cheesy 1-liners.

I've seen games that sold for $10 made by 3 guys working out of their garage look better than MM9/10. In fact it'd be pretty hard to make a game that looks worse. I believe they have to redevelop tools to make a game that looks this bad.

Yeah, man. It goes to show just how pathetic Capcom is at making in-game graphics. Sure they're passing this off as a deliberate attempt at a retro game but like Don, I ain't buyin' that shit either. They just suck at graphics. The sooner they admit it the better

I assume Zeus's trying to be sarcastic except it's not sarcastic when it's the truth.
When they made MM9 they specifically had to develop new tools because current tools are incapable of rendering graphics this ghetto. So no there's no money saved or anything because if they used their standard tools you'd get something that probably looks like a DS game. Seriously go look up on say MegaMari or the Mega Man clone based on Rozen Maiden. Those games are literally made by 5 guys in a garage somewhere and cost like $10 but even they look far better than MM9/10 while retaining all the classic Megaman elements right down to the instant kill lasers in Quick Man's stage.
Scarlet Devil Castle was obvious a Castlevania clone and the graphics looks like about what you'd find on the DS. They even throw in a song in there because you get MP3 capability on the PC for free, so might as well do it. A shameless magical girl knockoff game should not have more polish than a 20 year old franchise, but it does.

The art style exists because more people prefer the classic art rather than later revisions in the case of Mega Man. Not enough people would care about just another Mega Man game. It is likely Capcom didn't even consider just another DS style (or other) style Megaman.
The older style Mega Man games are more popular. That isn't to say new ones won't be made in the future; but it is doubtful that the existence of the NES style games have any impact on whethe they make a DS style one or not.

The original Megaman 1-3 are the highest selling Megaman games so I assume you're referring to that as to why it has to be old school.
But this is only because back when all the games look ghetto, a Megaman game looks decent enough. As competition improves, the sales decline because while having a FMV at all in the PS1 era makes you pretty stand now, now it takes more than that to impress anybody.
Super Mario 3 is one of the highest selling Mario games ever. I'm pretty sure there are a few Mario games it outsold so does that mean they need to return to NES graphics too? And yeah there's like New Super Mario Brothers but even that looks a lot better than NES. You can make stuff have a retro style without throwing away 20 years of progress in gaming.

Don, you can't seriously think that Capcom is poor at making graphics, can you? Look at the history of their games, they've always been strong graphically.

So far as the actual Megaman franchise is considered it is not a graphic powerhouse but of course even there, there is no reason to make a game look like it wouldn't be cutting edge 20 years ago.
You seem to have this argument where since a game isn't about the graphics it is okay to go even more ghetto to the point of specifically inventing new tools because current tools aren't capable of doing graphics this bad. I'm sure Capcom has tools that can crank out a Megaman game really fast, and it's not like you save money for making worse graphics. Most likely they'd have to spend more money because they need guys making stuff they're not used to making. For example let's say if takes X hour for your average graphics guy to come up with a bunch of sprites that'd be appropriate for a DS games, it doesn't somehow take less than X hours just because you dumb them down. Most likely it takes more than that because of the tool limitation. If you look at the sprite rippers stuff for the Megaman games, you can see that graphics like that can be fairly standardized and mass produced once the right tools are in place.

It didn't sell nearly as well as Mega Man 9, so hopefully Capcom will milk it one more time for all the suckers out there, before they move on with something else.

You are missing some very key points:
* Super Mario Brothers 3 in its original form sold millions on Virtual Console. This is evidence that people still like games with NES graphics.
* The Mega Man series was off the radar, whereas Mario is the top gaming franchise on the planet.
* New Super Mario Brothers costs five times as much as Megaman 9
* There IS a market for retro style games (graphics included). Mega Man was a good franchise to resurrect for a retro style game. It was a major franchise in the NES period.
* If they released a regular Mega Man game without anything special (such as retro style), no one would care about it.
* If a Super Mario Brothers 4 came out for 10 bucks on WiiWare, and it used Super Mario Brothers 3 graphics, it would sell millions.

If Super Mario Brothers 4 came out on WiiWare and sold for 2 million, it'd be considered a huge flop. It'd probably irreversiably damage the Mario franchise which is why Nintendo doesn't actually do this. People actually associate Mario franchise with quality games and anyone can tell a $10 WiiWare game is a cheap hack job. The reputation of the Mario franchise is worth a lot more than $20 million assuming that you can develop for the game for no cost and the 100% of revenue is profit.
Now you can say Megaman has no reputation so they might as well milk whatever, and that'd be somewhat valid except as Eric pointed out, the second attempt to milk people for $ seems to be failing. You basically have 5 MM games in a row that is nothing more than a cheap hack job to make a buck, from Z4, ZX, ZXA, MM9, and MM10 and people will remember this.
