A fun IGN article that takes our long-standing "casual vs hardcore" argument, defines it a little bit better, then adds in a few more categories, a couple for fun

I firmly rest in the "Hardcore" category myself

Yeah, it seems like the "All-rounder" would fit most people here, though there are combinations here and there, and they seem to forget the some of the "single-game obsessives" out there.

My dad is one example. The only Wii game he has really played often is Tiger Woods Golf 1 & 2, for the last year or two. He's played Resident Evil 4, and damn near got the tommy gun bonus, which I think requires a lot of work. He's played some of the Steam games I've given him, like Bioshock and Portal, though he's been playing Jumpgate (space sim MMO) for about 5-6 years now.

My sister is another, and is probably even worse. I gave her a Dreamcast with all of the games, and the only one she played was Tony Hawk (with maybe some Crazy Taxi once in a while). She played Left 4 Dead for about six months almost constantly. Now, she's playing WoW and going on raids pretty often. She can be a Femme-fatale because of sheer experience in a single game.

I get in my phases of being obsessive, but it never lasts and I just can't play a single game for that long. I've never gotten everything on a Final Fantasy game, not even FF13. (I eventually stopped killing those damn turtles and got bored.) Lord of the Rings was my record time on an MMO, and I still think I won't dive into another one for a long time (if ever).
