I just got a 4th gen iPod Touch last week. I was browsing through the app store and found Zenonia: it's a pretty sweet little action-rpg. The graphics are Zelda-ish with a little more of an anime twist.
The gameplay is fun, a little awkward at first with no real control pad but you get used to it. There are some interesting features intended to make the game more realistic like: night/day, needing to eat to fight your hunger, items needing to be repaired after use, items having weight and affecting you, etc. There are tons of items and quests and a good/evil system that tracks your game "karma" so to speak.
The music is standard hand-held RPG fare. Not bad.
The graphics are, like I said, like a 2D top-down Zelda game with anime character icons when characters talk.
Here's the review from IGN: http://wireless.ign.com/articles/986/986564p1.html
It looks like there's a sequel out already and the company that makes it, Gamevil has another action-RPG series "Hybrid" that looks promising as well.
I would recommend the game. It's only $3. There's also a free preview version of it that lets you play through the first quest. I played it and ended up buying the full version.
