Initial Report
Reuters reports

This is why it is important to be profitable, it gains the company money and power. What better way to declare victory over your rivals than by buying their company?

Although I think Sony would be a very poor investment, Sony is a sickly bedridden company compared to Apple. As one Japanese analyst said, Japanese companies usually won't allow that.

Interesting news, more will likely be known shortly. Companies this large, potentially making moves this large, do not move by quietly.

Anyway, the Playstation brand, if any company can resurrect it to greatness, it is Apple.

I don't believe it. It's fake. It has to be. Sony is too damn large to have somebody buy it out.

EDIT: Annnnnd, I'm right. Re-check your links.

This was a ridiculous rumour. Apple's buy-outs have always been singularly focused. Sony's portfolio is way too diverse for an Apple buy-out to make sense.

Not to mention Apple is a good company valued at 276 billion (the largest valued company in the technological sector - in comparison,, Microsoft is worth 222 billion, and Google is worth 195 billion), but Sony is a relatively poor company valued at only 34 billion (a price Apple could easily afford with their 51 billion extra); it would be a poor investment.

Yeah, it's ONLY 34 billion. It's still a large company for even Apple to be buying out.
