Anyone else planning on picking this up? Comes out in a week. I know Tessian'll get it at some point but I've been looking forward to a non-watered down RPG for a long time, now. Since DA2 was disappointing on this front and Deus Ex: Human Revolution doesn't come out until August I'm pining on this for my fix. At the very least I'm looking forward to another volume of Geralt fucks shit up.
Oh, right, and GOG.com has the best deal on the game, what with it being DRM free and all exclusively from them.

This is the best RPG since, well, I'm not really sure. It may be better than even DA:O, though.

Guh, i am itching for a new game on the PC, but i havnt played Witcher 1. I really dislike when awesome sequels pop out... even if they claim it isnt a real sequel i feel as if i have to play the first, which i dont want to do. Help?

They're both great games and you can certainly play the second without spoiling the first one for yourself if you go back later. Even though the sequel continues right where the first one left off it doesn't spoil much of anything in the first. The politics are complicated and the source material is pretty first rate. When they do find themselves using something cliche they usually make fun of it, which is pretty great, too.

A further game in the now trilogy has been announced, as is the fact that it won't take several years to complete this time. Also announced is that all future Witcher 2 DLC will be free.
Latest patch brings the game to 2.0. If difficulty was making you hesitate then the game now offers an actual tutorial as opposed to throwing you into the middle of a siege. It also offers a harder difficulty with additional cursed items. Further information on the "Dark Mode" with the additional items is still kinda scarce. I'm still plowing through the siege. And by plowing through I mean dying a lot. A single arrow takes you down to half health in this game mode.
