Holy crap is it ever buggy.

I've stopped attempting side missions because the odds I will get through one without the PS3 hard freezing are so low.

Is that a big issue? Was thinking of getting it for the 360 but I have two or three PC games (Total War: Shogun, Fallout: New Vegas DLC, and Witcher 2) that are sucking up my time right now and I can certainly wait until LA Noire goes on sale otherwise.

It's been a big issue for Fea and I. If I'd known better I would have waited for a patch at least.

I have encountered zero issues with the 360 version from beginning to end.

Mine's been perfect. I'm done 9 of the 21 cases and not one issue with freezing or anything else. And I have an older PS3, the Motorstorm 80GB edition that was software backwards compatible. Is yours older than that one?

We're playing on a PS3 slim and it crashes at least a couple of times per playing session.

No crashies on PS3 here.

The problems Andrew is having have convinced me to actually never buy the 360 version :P

As much as I love the game, I have noticed that my PS3 heats up like an oven when I play it.

Stuck on the first case of Vice now. Hard crash every time I walk in to the crime scene. Ugh.

(Before anyone asks — the disc is pristine and the PS3 isn't having trouble with any other games. I've tried deleting the game's data. I refuse to delete my save game.)

That sucks. Personally, my PS3's been a rock for the 3 years I've had it. Never once had any issues with it. The 360, on the other hand, I'm on my 3rd one now.

But clearly it's the game if it's the only one where the issue's happenin'. Must be a specific manufacturing period it's affecting

Pristine or not the disc could just be defective. And you could try starting a new game and going straight to something that you know would crash it to see if that's the issue.

Yep! I might try exchanging the disc.

I'd try it at a friend's PS3 first, just to rule out some weird issue with your particular manufacturing model

If it was a problem with the model the issue would likely be widely detailed by now. It's not like his is particularly obscure or something.

Maybe, but I'd try it just for the sake of it. Gotta at least rule it out

I also have this issue. The PS3 is usually the quieter of my two consoles (360), but not with LA Noire playing.

Are you using a slim as well? I likely have one of the oldest PS3s here and I sit about 7 feet with full sight of the PS3 and I can't hear it at all when I'm playing. Maybe it's an issue with the cheaper components in the slim model? (don't think that large price drop don't come with some "cost reduction" in production)

No. Mine is an 80gb MGS4 model, the last one with B/C.

I notice it because I have to sit really close to the TV when my lady is asleep because my good headphones are busted.

Hmmm, got me. Personally, I have zero issues and I have the Motorstorm 80GB models. I'd be interested in finding out what the issue is, especially after both Sony and Rockstar came out and said "hey, ain't me"
