* It is a full collaboration between Shu Takumi and Level 5 - rather than just a simple licensing of characters. They want to make a game that authentically feels like both Ace Attorney and Layton.
* It takes place in a medieval world with superstition and witch trials, the blonde girl in the video is accused of witchcraft. 50 bucks says that Maya and her supernatural powers get her in trouble too =P
* Professor Layton becomes the investigator for the story, while Phoenix Wright becomes the defense attorney.
* Voice overs for the first time in an Ace Attorney game

I'm wondering if it'll come out over here.

The 2nd Miles Edgeworth game didn't.

I think, with Edgeworth 2, that was more an abnormality due to its poor timing on the release schedule; and I really hope we see a version of it out eventually. This new game looks fairly high in production values and features two very popular characters in Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton; one title series selling hundreds of thousands outside of Japan, and the other selling millions. Plus this is somewhat of a Dream collaboration as these are the two biggest franchises of the genre, and they share many fans.

I'd buy a 3DS for this game.

Just FYI Eric: the 4th DS game (Last Spector) is coming on Oct 17. That's why we haven't heard about the release date for the 3DS one, which was a launch title in Japan and was supposed to be available for launch here (I preordered it) before they pulled it.

So yeah, the cross-over will come here, they all do
