Joined a server.. my gun kept disappearing, movement was choppy, and it felt like Bad Company 2 at release.
I'll give it another chance but there's no way I'm jumping into another Battlefield game at launch that's going to be released like this. And god, selecting a server from a browser - why? WHY? Fucking thing doesn't even show me my ping. The chance of me finding a good server without being able to look at the ping of a server is, what, one in fucking twenty-five? Fuck it, no, I might not give this game another chance.
Edit: Oh okay I was wrong, but the ping on the server was 87 and it still acted like that? Yowzers.

The 360 version doesn't work right now. I played it for about an hour and then it just stopped connecting to EA servers. The bf3 twitter says they are working on it. So I switched over to ps3 and that is running a-okay.

I read previews with the usual promises of developing certain things specifically for the PC. I'm guessing your gun doesn't disappear randomly in the PS3 or 360 versions? Well that's a pretty cool PC only feature if I've ever seen one.

not that. The glitchy business has been clipping through geometry when prone, and the screen shaking a bit when prone. It is weird, and I hope that this is not the version that is going to ship in a couple of weeks.

PS3 is glitchy and laggy. It is very dark also and I keep getting stuck on random objects in the subway tunnels.

We commonly refer to these versions of games, which are playable but need some work, as "beta" :-)

Glitchy is one thing but Dicebox or whatever the devs are called are serial early releasers and I've had enough of this shit. Maybe when it goes on sale and it has been patched.

Open Beta is a synonym for a demo of the finished product these days. It is perfectly valid to expect everything in there to be working.

I expect some glitchy lag issues because it's simultaneously a stress test, but yeah, Don's correct. It should resemble a finished product.

It definitely isn't (anywhere) close to being finished in my opinion.

Don't take my word for it, the developers will tell you themselves:

Beta or not, their previous games were glitchy during open beta and they sure as hell weren't polished and finished at release so I'm not trusting them. With Skyrim coming out on BF3's heels I'm gonna have to go with that. Bethesda RPGs may not be perfect at release but they're always fun.
"Less glitchy" sounds like industry bullshit.
