No occasion. Steam just has a bunch of F2P games. TF2 was moved to F2P... semi-recently? I guess some time during the summer.

I think most of the games in that category are stuff where you're expected to shell out a lot of money for microtransaction if you want to have a tolerable playing experience.

Well not Team Fortress 2 at least, unless you have a hard on for hats(and some people do >.>)

I'm sure some of these games actually are free because the game maker wanted to further the betterment of humanity, but that's not why the majority of the games are F2P.

Valve probably makes more money selling hats than putting TF2 for sale for $2 every 4 months.

Don't forget about America's Army 3. That game's as free as social security.

I got TF2 and it is as much fun as i remember the original being back in college. Its a better online game than the zombie game Valve made, i think. In just a few rounds, i was back in old form and dominating people with the soldier and sniper classes. I always have more fun with TF than mods like Counter Strike, where i seem to perpetually get owned by ridic good kids.

The cool thing about TF2 is you can aid your team in a win even if you really suck.
