Prototype 2, little disappointed.

So I'm one of those people that ended up getting Prototype over Infamous a while back(I didn't end up playing Infamous until the PSN outage, and I ended up loving it).

That being said I really enjoyed the original Prototype, I thought the game's story was absurd, but the action was on point, you felt really powerful, and the destruction of anything and everything made the game a real blast, Alex Mercer, the game's protagonist was kind of confused about his situation, so despite the fact he pretty much murders anyone and everyone in the game I didn't dislike him all that much as an anti-hero.

Infamous 2 came out last year, and I hate to make the comparison, but Infamous 2 took almost every single issue Infamous 1 had, and pretty much fixed them, I feel like it was one of the BEST games last year and one of the most fun sandbox games I've ever played(Yet overshadowed by alot of other AAA games last year as well).

Prototype 2 feels almost identical to Prototype 1, right down the the animations and gameplay, it's like they just copy/pasted Prototype 1->2 added a few locations, and gave you the same game, so it feels like you're playing Prototype 1 all over again. The guy Alex Mercer gives his powers to for no reason is James Heller(Seriously this made no sense, he didn't have to share that power with anyone), and then the story is driven by a boring revenge plot....which is a step down from the first game if you can believe that. I wanted to reallllly like this game, but I just couldn't. Not a huge fan of the ending(cause it's cool to hate endings nowadays), and I'm fairly sure the developers were trying to break the record for use of the word "fuck" in a video game. I'm glad that I didn't buy it and borrowed it from a friend. Prototype 2 feels like a cheap cash-in sequel, which doesn't do justice to the foundation the first laid out.

Damn, that sucks. I was honestly surprised that Alex ended up being the bad guy in this one, because it seemed like he was still fighting for the right things in P1, even if he was killing people to do it. It made him a good anti-hero. And then he turns around and becomes the bad guy here.
