I hate the calm before the storm....

It's always like this the last couple of weeks before E3. We get nothing - I mean NOTHING - out of the game companies. Sure you have a few small things announced, like Eric's favourite bundle, but there's no news of any kind anywhere, just stupid little rumours. Announcing Borderlands 2 and Halo 4 BML (Blow My Load) Editions ain't nothing. Then we spent a month sifting through the absolute torrent of information that comes out in that 5 or 6 day span hoping not to miss out on those smaller release titles that often end up being better than the big-named franchises.

My girlfriend does PR for video games... all I hear about E3 for the 2 months before it is how much work it is and how she can't wait for it to be done.
She is currently working with THQ and DarkSiders 2

No one actually in the industry likes it due to the extreme pressures of meeting a specific date. It's much worse for them than us consumers.
I have zero interest in Darksiders 2. Anyone here even care?

No, fuck that game and everyone involved with it (kidding)
But on a serious note, I didn't particularly like the combat in the original, but they're changing it up, so I imagine I will read reviews and buy it when it goes on sale for something less than $20.

I thought it was a decent and entertaining Zelda clone actually.

And that's what you hear a lot. "Pretty good Zelda clone with multi". But a month after release, no one cared anymore and the price dropped faster than a teenaged girl's panties backstage at a Bieber concert. I'm curious how this one's gonna resonate with gamers when it goes up against Borderlands, Halo, Assassin's Creed, Medal of Honor, and CoD.

I can probably get it for around that price on 360/PS3 now in the local game stores. NO ONE cares about that game at all anymore

Civ 5's coming out at the end of June so that should be enough to keep me busy. There's also Torchlight 2, and Guild Wars 2 is supposed to be the savior of MMORPGs though I have been burned by such proclamations quite a few times so I'm skeptical.

You can have all the free game time (after initial purchase), smart and numerous skills, and interesting questing in the world and it isn't going to save Guild Wars 2 from still being Guild Wars. Which is to say boring, somewhat clunky combat in comparison to just about every MMORPG. Am I still going to play the shit out of it? Probably. Okay, almost definitely.

Well, most MMORPGs are good investment as a single player game assuming you were able to finish it one to two months (since you get one month for free), which is why although I know most of them won't actually deliver what they claim it's still a decent deal.
