For those of us not too-cool-for-school (looks towards Sine and Don), this could be an interesting concept. Basically take Wii Sports except with mini-games themed around other Nintendo games (Zelda, DK, etc).

Nintendo mashing up their 90's character stable into one title with mini-games. Holy shit, revolutionary & UNEXPECTED!!!

....

Come on, seriously? It might be a good game but can we stop pretending Nintendo is doing anything more than treading water with pure Nostalgia life saver? All innovation left Nintendo years ago, gimmicks is all that's left.

Exactly the opposite, actually. Nintendo is not a "genre king" in anything aside from the platformers (2D and 3D) and even those weren't by design. They basically became the top of those genres by default. If you actually pay attention to their releases, there's a ton of innovation. Now, you may not care about that innovation but it's there. In fact, Nintendo NEEDS to keep doing it, it's what makes them what they are, which is consistently the top selling publisher year-in, year-out. If they were to try to release only sequels/nostalgia, they would just fizzle out.

An article posted by the departed Kupek many moons ago provides an excellent explanation of this: http://www.lostgarden.com/2005/09/ninte ... ategy.html
