The biggest shocking announcements ever!

3DS XL comin in August at $200. Gonna be almost the size of the DSi XL (90% bigger instead of 93%) and double the battery life:

Didn't Nintendo JUST come out and say there was "no plans" for another 3DS model and that they're working "on the next handheld"? Amazingly, they didn't actually include the second stick from the Circle Pad Pro....and there's no AC Adaptor with the system. Really? Their excuse is "we want to make it affordable" so excluding a $1.50 AC adaptor all of a sudden makes it affordable? Wow. And no second stick is a HUGE oversight. I personally don't care much but it's important to a lot of other players and developers. That does nothing but help the Vita which is essentially on life support right now
Also, Metal Gear 5 has been announced and it will star Solid Snake:

Yeah, no one saw that one coming after the success and general awesomeness of #4. Of course, the platform(s) haven't been announced yet but it wouldn't shock me if this one becomes a PS4/Xbox 720 launch window title. If MGS4 can look that damned good on the PS3, I'm dyin' to see what it'll look like on the next gens....
