  • Chrono Trigger 30th anniversary, today

  • Because playing them is not enough, we have to bitch about them daily, too. We had a Gameplay forum, but it got replaced by GameFAQs.

Chrono Trigger released in Japan March 11, 1995.

This forum began as somewhat of a Chrono Trigger fan community. Particularly by the original artwork.

I’m hooking up an old console to play tonight.

I wish the steam version wasn't just a straight port of the mobile version.

Some news from Square at least.

"As we mark the 30th anniversary, we will be launching various projects that go beyond the world of the game over the next year to express our gratitude to everyone who has played Chrono Trigger so far," the company stated.

Is the mobile version based on the DS version? I found the extra content put into that one not only didn’t improve the game, but that playing it subtracted from the existing experience. Not only was extra non-story stuff was the most bland part of the entire game, but it somewhat unbalanced the experience and made New Game+ less special. But that was a minor thing compared to sacrificing the mystery of Schala for a cheap Chrono Cross tie-in is something I like to pretend never happened - much like the fate of Hicks and Newt in Alien 3, which undermines the plot of Aliens.

Just my opinion, I think the majority of people probably see it as more content = more good.

The Steam version has all of the content from the DS version with the exception of the Arena of the Ages.
