'honestly, I haven't played it, but I have heard very few people say anything bad about it, can't really comment here. Blizzard are excellent developers, maybe Warcraft III will take the 2001 awards by storm next year. Previous winners are Rare's Goldeneye 007, and Nintendo's Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Diablo 2 is the third game to win this award.

The Outstanding developer award went to John Carmack.

'Don't really know much about this guy, he is the developer for Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, and Quake I believe, those games did revolutionize the Videogame industry, he definetly deserves the award if this really is the case. I actually believed this year, they'd give the award to Yuji Naka (Sega's big guy) or Yuji Norii (guy who invented the modern console RPG, Dragon Warrior, Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Ballz). Previous winners were Shigeru Miyamoto, and Sid Meier, I guess both of them need no introduction.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt Modern; text-align: left; '>It's like the Academy awards for Videogames, the judges are represented from all the major Videogame and software companies from all over the world. I don't know how you could not have heard of them since pretty much all gaming magazines and websites published the results.</div>
